"The Spirit Of New Orleans" Back in NO

2 posts in this topic

I have heard that the "Spirit Of Louisianna", the 2001 Ferrara Inferno Engine donated to FDNY after 9-11 that served at Engine 283 and presently at the BOT, was Landol-ed down to NO,LA with the FDNY convoy to show appreciation for the gesture and connection with the state.

My questions are, has anybody seen photos of this engine in action down there yet (I know I have seen several photos of FDNY FF's using a Tele-squirt, but not the Infernon) and are they going to leave the Engine down there??? I know NOFD's fleet must be in some poor shape by now.

Just a side note, Ferrara, and the State of LA, also donated a RAC unit, a Decon unit, and several cheifs sedans after 9-11, in addition to the Engine.

Just saw (and heard them state) on Channel 11 News at 10 that FDNY sent the Spirit Of LA, 6 Battalion vehicles, the (Dennis Leary donated 2005 Freightliner/LDV) mobile command center, a rescue truck (Freightliner/E-One?), and a supply truck. In addition to some buses carrying firefighters.
