Fort Worth, Texas new Quint

6 posts in this topic

This is one of Fort Worth's new Quint. It's a completely refurbished job from their old Spartan/LTI Quint. This Quint has been in service for about 6 months now.

Quint 12 serves the historical Fort Worth Stock Yards. (Home of Billy Bob's Texas)

Nice! Does Fort Worth run their Quints as Engines, Trucks, or (cringing) both?

x635: It depends on if the Quint is the only piece that runs out of the station. Quint 9, and Quint 33 run as both since there is NOT an Engine Co. stationed with them. The stations were an Engine is stationed with the Quint, then the Quint is a Truck Co. Fort Worth only has one TRUE Ladder, and that's Truck 14. Truck 14 is a 135' E-One straight stick. Truck 1, Truck 2, and Truck 8 are Aerial/Towers. The rest of the aerials in Fort Worth are 75' Quints. Quint 33 runs sort of like Rochester, New York does. They have Attack 33 that runs with them. Attack 33 is like a Mini Pumper on a Ford F-Series Crew Cab dually. Here's what Attack 33 looks like.

Negative....It's a rearmount. Here's a link to Truck 14. It's nickname is "MASTERS OF DISASTER". Fort Worth names most of their apparatus. 8) 8)
