History of Fire Extinguishers

Hey there fellow guys and gals in the emergency services field. I am working on a research project entitled "The History of Fire Extinguishers." I have been having trouble finding much information on this topic, minus the basic descriptions on the early soda-acid extinguishers. That information is great at all, just do not have much information on the progression and development of them over the years. Any recommended sites to visit that I may not have discovered? Thanks for any and all help!!

The Fire Museum up at the Home in Hudson, NY, has all kinds of info and I bet they have original documentation.

Try - NFPA - Fire Protection Handbook

I would try giving them a call and see if they have info they can email or fax!

If that fails, call out to Fire Protection Publications @ Oklahoma State. Ask for the research librarian. Tell them that you are a student and what info you need.
