    To the Membership of EMTBravo,
There comes a time when things must change for the sake of allowing new ideas to come forth. With the recent problems with the forum, we feel that it is time that we as the admins and mods of EMTBravo move on so that the site can progress to the next level.
We have requested to be returned to the regular members list of the site and thank you for all the support you have given us as a Team trying to give you the best public safety forum on the internet. We value the friendships and contacts we have made, the discussions we have given, the different view points presented and the promotion of progress in the public safety sector.
Please feel free to contact us personally at any time and we wish all of you and the founder of EMTBravo the best on this site.
    Sincerely,

I agree that unless you are doing CPR, or the commerical service has no units available. There really isn't a reason to be paging volunteers to nursing homes and urgent cares.

In the early morning of Monday January 7th 2013, Arlington was dispatched to 48 Raymond Ave for smoke in the Building. Units arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the duct work of the first floor business. Firefighters made entry to find a fire in the kitchen. Fire had also extended to the attached apartment building in the rear. Arlington had gotten reports of a resident in the apartments was trapped and could not exit the structure. While firefighters were locating and trying to put out the fire on the first floor, Firefighter Joe Tarquinio Jr. went to the rear of the building and made entry to the second floor to search. The rear door had to be forced open. He then made his way down the hallway in zero visibility and in deteriorating conditions, and found an unconscious male. He then radioed command and told 32-9 that he needed help getting the victim out. At that time Firefighter Bill Tompkins Jr. made his way to the 2nd floor to assist. The pair were able to get the male occupant out with some difficulty, as conditions were getting a lot worse. While this rescue was being made, other Arlington Firefighters were chasing fire through out the structure. Mutual Aid was received from the City of Poughkeepsie, Pleasant Valley, Roosevelt, Lagrange and New Hamburg Fire Departments. The fire is under investigation by the Arlington Fire District. Congratulations Group 4, JOB WELL DONE!

Tonight, at 0001 hrs on 1-1-13, EMTBravo will turn 10 years old! Maybe it's just me that's excited over something so trivial, but to me, it means something
Seems like it was just yesterday when I sat dow at my computer, enjoying the relatively new, long awaited broadband connection, at my apartment in Woburn,MA on New Year's Eve, when on a whim, I decided to create a website to replace my email list. So, the very simple website went live at 0001 on New Years Day, and, like a snowball down a hill, kept growing each and every week that went by. Photos and information poured in to post on the original site. There had never been a site like this in the Hudson Valley and Southwestern CT, and was launched before anyone had really every heard about Facebook or the term "Social Media". You could tell imediately that this was something that people had wanted since learning the word "Internet". Heck, some people only ventured on the internet for EMTBravo, and that's the only use they had for it.. Seven months later, the EMTBravo Network forums were launched to replace the "News" section of the original site and become an interactive and dynamic way to exchange information and ideas . EMTBravo has expanded tremendously in both size and geographical areas covered from the small, Westchester dedicated site that it originally was. And to this day, 10 years later, the site keeps growing and I stil have the passion for it that I had on Day 1.
It's still our vision, and it's been proven over the years, that firefighters, police officers, EMS workers, 911 Dispatchers, and everyone else with an interest in emergency services can work together, can become friends, can develop ideas, can learn from one another, and can make anything happen. Of course, it was our first mission to "get the word out" which is still true to this day.
One of the things that I am proud of, is that members of the site when it was first launched are still active members and staff to this day! The loyalty and support of this site by the all of our members has been awesome, and has made the site what it is.
Personally, one of the things I'm most grateful for during the entire 10 years of this site was all the great friendships that I have made along the way, that I probaly wouldn't have ever met had it not been for this site.
And we intend to use this oppurtunity to celebrate! Look for special 10 year anniversary features throughout the year, starting tommorow with an EMTBravo Quiz!

Seth G. , on behalf of the EMTBravo team!

Tankers engines ambulances rescues.... Speed is the issue regardless of apparatus type.

AND as a tiller, with the tiller man steering into the turn, much of the lateral inertia that initiated the roll was mitigated... Had this been a straight job or tower, it probably would have gone over twice!!!

I'm sick of BS bashing and bitching too but intelligent, rational discussions about critical things like the future of our emergency services need to happen. To say that a department who can't get out the door needs to address it by paying personnel or a career department needs to reduce its budget by augmenting staffing with properly trained and qualified volunteers is "bashing" is very narrow-minded.
Are there members here with an agenda? Sure, just like in every firehouse or EMS station! Get over it! We're all entitled to different opinions and if we can't exchange them without crying about it, we're never going to see anything improve. We just endured one of the most contentious elections in recent memory - at several levels, not just the presidency - but we're still all working side by side regardless of who we voted for. Why can't we simply agree to disagree, respect someone else for having a different opinion than ourselves and move on?
Seriously, political correctness and fear of offending anyone and everyone has stifled some very important dialogue. All you have to do is look at the municipal budget crises to see that we are approaching a cliff also and will soon be facing people with torches and pitchforks demanding changes and savings and accountability. If you'd rather just discuss apparatus chevrons, flashing lights, and post, and post and repost nonsense, carry on.
