If you are reffering to the FDNY High Pressure Units they have a Waterous 3 stage 1000 gpm pump.

FDNY never used Hales except for the ALF (Hale built pumps) on the Century series pumpers. All the Mack, Ward 79/Macks, and Seagraves were Waterous. As for the older pumpers from the 50's and before, depended on the company. The were a big Ahrens-Fox and Ward Lafrance department too in the early 1900's.

IzzyEng4, you have that a little confused.

High Pressure Units = 6, 10, 26, 34, 54, 65, 258

Engines 6, 10 placed in downtown .

Engines 26, 34, 54, 65 cover midtown.

Engine 258 in Queens near the CityCorp building.

These units are designed to supply 700psi with the third stage which will get you upto the 110fl.

They are only 1000gpm pumper and not used as a water supply.

The Satelite Engines are 2000gpm pumpers used for water supply

Engines 9, 72, 159,207, 284, 324

This units are all teamed up with the Satellite units. The pumpers also have added connections for the LDH and foam ops.
