Units Operating:Yonkers 4th Alarm Assignment at TOW

Description Of Incident: Heavy Fire in 4-story OMD

Writer: Truck4 (O/S), DFFD227(almost slept through it all),x635

0949hrs- TL-71/R-1 10-84 w/10-29 in 4 story OMD.

0950hrs- B-1 req. 2nd Alarm for fire on 3rd-4th floors of 4 story OMD.

0953hrs- TL-75 to come up Elm St. from Palisade Ave., set up in front of Exp. 4.

1003hrs- B-1 req. 3rd Alarm for fire on all floors of original fire building, with ext. to Exp. 4- similar attached.

1015hrs- Mutual Aid New Rochelle (E-21/TL-11) Mt. Vernon( E-4/L2) to cover.

Exp. 1- Street

Exp. 2- 2 story ordinary

Exp. 3- 10 -ft. rear alley and 5 -story brick PD facility.

Exp. 4- 4-story ordinary attached

1018hrs- B-1 req. 4th Alarm (E-314/L-70). L-74 to set up in rear on Columbus Pl. Heavy fire into the cockloft and through the roof.

1025hrs- L-72 setting up pipe on Elm St., L-73 setting up on Nepperhan Ave. M/A Greenville E-151 to cover Sta. 12.

1040hrs- All co's pulled from building with roll calls in progress. Heavy fire top floor, cockloft, through the roof. Co's going to exterior attack. YFD recalling off duty FF's and a third BC. Fire is gas fed at this time.

1050hrs- TL-71 in op. in front. TL-75 in op. in front of Exp. 4. E-313 feeding L-70, setting up in rear. All FF's accounted for. Roof has collapsed into building.

1115hrs- 2 TL's, 3 Ladder pipes in op. (L-72, 73, 74).

1125hrs- Heavy fire beginning to darken down, co's entering exp's to check ext.

1147hrs- B-1 reports all companies still working. Still have heavy fire in basement and 1st floor of original fire building. Req. Con Ed gas T/S, fire is gas fed in basement. Co's in Exp's rep. no fire at this time.

1202hrs- B-1 rpts. all co's still operating.

1222hrs- B-1 rpts. exterior ops shut down, co's re-entering building.

1257hrs- E-317 I/S going to Sta. 13 to relieve MVFD E-4.

1337hrs- B-1 rpts. fire under control.

1418hrs- YFD using E-317/L-76 with recall FF's. Still holding New Rochelle Eng. and Trk. and MVFD L-2.

1425hrs- Some units being released from scene, M/A taking up from covers shortly.

****News 12 had a crew at the job at a good time (for a change). Should have decent video starting at 5pm****
