"The Gap"

1 post in this topic

It appears that in the southern part of the county communications is still a great concern for many when you either go out on mutual aid or mutual aid comes in.From different depts being unable to communicate with each other to some rigs not even being equipted with county radios. We all know the importance that communications play both while responding as well as working on the fireground. Amazingly tonight on A&E they mentioned that the FD radios didn't operate in 1993 during the 1st attack on the WTC and that 8 years later the the breakdown in communications was still present. Back when pelham manor had the general alarm of fire in the 6 story OMD this topic was supposed to be addressed and rectified. well brothers, here we are-the VOID IS STILL THERE! You can be in the same building on fire and not have any communications to the outside, your only link might be your nextel! be Safe!!!!!!!
