MT.Vernon has been using Ferrara`s for almost 10yrs, we`ve had nothing to complain about They had some initial problems that had be worked out but they ars very strong and reliable,we run em hard all day every day !!!!! sometimes things get broken ,thats just the nature of the machine.

From a mechanic`s point of view with 40 plus years experience working on fire apparatus i must say that all the mechanic`s that i know working on fire trucks are all top shelf (mechanic`s) with vast experienc

maybe the foam truck sounded like good idea at that time, but it was a major mistake to get it for many reason`s ,like...where ya gonna put it? who`s going to man it?the turning radius is for huge open space`s ,it has old air/over hydrolic brakes that were antiquated and broken. tires batteries etc. and Mt. Vernon fire dept. hates to spend money.The truck was made for airports !!!!not city streets.

Reguarding FDMV old truck 4.... it has been sold to a collector, it`s been sitting here for awhile because he was injured (accident). and couldn`t come get it.

Thought i`d ad my 2 cents... If the dealer is going to be Neville on the island i!d be really shocked, their shop is small and cluttered up with ambulances, a small staff , like 4 mechanics.I cant believe FDNY took a trip to their shop!! Just wait till they start dealing witk the factory waranty rep..I gotta see this.

Mt.Vernon ran a Mt.Vernon .F.D used a Peirce 95ft. Snorkel from 1977-2000 then it was given to Santo Domingo Fire dept. along with 4 Mack pumpers..

f.y.i.... ladder #3 is a 1988 E- ONE 95 ft.platform .. ladder #2 is a 1998 100ft. rear mount Seagrave stick .. both are down but not out!!! TL1 is a 2005 Seagrave aerielscope ....TL4 is a 1980 Mack/ Baker 75 ft. scope soon to be up & runnin !!!!!!

Hey guys..anybody notice that the master pump gauges "hydrant n pressure" are showing built up pressure. could be a problem taking the steamer cap off!!!!!!!!!!!! pull the main drain.

we have a 1981 75ft. single axle Mack Baker Scope.. it's 41long ..10/5" tall ,,, any help??

yes that rescue truck was sold at auction ,early 80's . we used a dodge B300 van for maybe...3yrs .then we used a 1981 ford E350 box truckfor 6yrs,{still here] and running as support 1.The 1987 ford LN-8000 ran 24/7 for 20yrs.

yes Mt.Vernon F.D has big unresolved problems w/ferrarra .

just wondering .... are they referring to the jake brake when they say the {aux. brake was left on}? It should have been turned off by the driver. jakes are dangerous when used on slippery surfaces .
