If the Mods want to move this elsewhere it's ok....but thought someone could post pics of the real rig if you got em......this is on ebay now. If it were maybe $100 I would be bidding on it I think!!!! Code 3 needs to produce somemore old school stuff!

Why did they call it a quad when it looks like a quint?

Izzy that is an excellent question. I will ask around.

The ebay ad copy staes 1 of 3 made...so If the other 2 are still around I would hope Faireview FD has one of the 2. These were built I think by a Captain of LA City FD back in the 70's. fireengines.net has a thread on this with other pics of his models.

If it didn't have a water tank, then it's a quad not a quint.

I understand that Mike but the ad states the truck has "booster equipment" which would make me believe there was a tank on it. I'm just wondering why Fairview called it a quad.

We are talking 1939 here. maybe the term Quint was not used yet. it is the first stab at it from Aherns fox . just a thought!

`

The 1939 BJQ- Note (Q) for Quint Probably at that time there was no Quad designation ? The model that Fairview has

on display was done by LT. Robert Gooding FFD. this was a hand built balsa wood model with more detail than the one

on ebay Will take pics and post same.
