  1. But no logs or brush?
  2. I don't mean to be offensive, but I find it an odd contradiction that you want a 9g holder for gloves but your profile picture shows a young child without any protection sitting on a pair of monitors.
  3. Pumper tankers are great when they are first due, who wouldn't want 2500 gallons right away? Depending on the call, that truck may be all you need. They are a bear if they are in a tanker shuttle because of the length and ability to navigate what is usually tight quarters. As mentioned the height brings it's own challenges as well.
  4. The 2642 master key in the article is a city wide elevator key not a door key.
  5. Ridgefield has career staffing minimum of 6 or 7 and 45-50 vols on the fire side.
  6. It's a shame they put bike tires on it.
  7. Your scenario really has nothing to do with the topic at hand, no offense. That is a totally different topic, although I think you will get plenty of responses saying that nobody would sacrifice a call to keep a truck clean. When I was the chief of my department we had everything planned out to handle calls before during and after parades. I think you will find most do the same.
  8. Totally agree. A very nice departure from the norm, there should always be room for a little levity whether you are in on the joke or not.
  9. Oooops , just realized you were talking about the roof line behind the 2010! It is such a good spy shot the subject is barely there.
  10. That can't be a 2013, the body style changed in the 2011 MY to the more rounded version. Best it can be is 2010.
  11. You ask lots of questions about other people's stuff. Just saying.
  12. ATF is a federal agency, so there is no difference anywhere.
  13. It will look really good once it's ripe.
  14. They are in the mail today.
  15. I've got a couple of patches coming your way. Haven't found small shirts yet.
  16. That's the direction I was headed.
  17. Anyone have an address where we could send shirts and patches?
  18. And don't forget Noroton Height's fleet of CF's while we are talking about exhaust placement - they take their stacks out of the middle of the truck between the body and cab. Looks great, keeps everything up and away and in most cases no danger of grabbing something hot.
  19. There are two ways I've seen the capture on stacks...on the stack as well as off a diverter at the bottom elbow. In the capture mode a flapper closes off the stack. It actually works out nicely because the driver has a switch to divert the flow and you can run open exhaust.
  20. Ridgefield won Best Out of State and Best Tanker.
  21. I was not going to comment anymore on this, but needed to say I agree 100%. I can almost hear the bag pipes playing. Oh wait, I can, I've got them on Pandora right now. Kind of funny that those who feel "I'm so into fighting fires that I would never consider taking a parade seriously" take quibbling about parades so seriously. Again, to each his own. NOW, I'm out.
  22. I don't think anyone suggested you do that. Question was asked and answered, and you seem to be taking it a bit personally. I'm on board with #37 and #38, and quite honestly leaving the topic completely would be even better. This is nit picking hen's talk. To each his own. Peace out.
  23. That's for the marching part of the unit becuase you lose cadence at corners and at rest. Part of the judging is for being in step which is hard to judge when nobody is moving. Not in the line of march for units being judged you don't. Or take the 10 point hit. juniors, All membership is eligible to march, juniors, fire police, support personnel and ladies auxiliary (I think the beard thing is for them). At 2 mph, 20 feet is not so close. How about an empty bracket, that might give it away. There is plenty to drink before at after parades, you cannot carry the coolers in vehicles being judged. Or you can, and take the demerits. It isn't so hard to keep them tagged. I believe you are reading this one backwards, you lose points for the hose covers which in effect supports the NFPA view. . If they consolidated they would be, um, one department.
  24. There are plenty of depts that do just that, the other do that and compete. Seems to be a harmless win-win to me.
  25. the driver stops for the cab door, the compartments are opened while underway, unless the parade happens to be stopped.
