  1. Hastings-on-Hudson has received a 2021 Spartan/Marion for Rescue 100


    This replaces a "Frankenstein" style rig that previously saw service in Norwalk, Connecticut. That rig was assembled by the Norwalk FD Shops utilizing components from several older NFD rigs. Hastings acquired it in 2010 as a trade for their 1985 American LaFrance 100' Tiller.

    The Islip Town Fire & EMS Museum & Education Center and the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs (NYSAFC) have joined together to deliver a new emergency services exposition and educational event on Long Island.

    The Long Island Metro Fire/EMS Expo will be held from February 11-13, 2022, at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y. The comprehensive event will feature exhibits of new apparatus, tools, equipment, products, technologies, and services, as well as 15 one-hour educational seminars for emergency services personnel.

    Lecturers will include Chief Thomas Richardson, Deputy Assistant Chief John Norman, Battalion Chief John Salka, Captain Michael Dugan, and Captain Mark Gregory of the FDNY, Saratoga County EMS Coordinator Mike McEvoy, and many more! EMS CEU seminars will also be available for certified EMS providers.

    Expo hours will be Friday, February 11 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, February 13 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Seminars for first responders of all ranks will also be held Friday through Sunday.

    Attendee registration is $20 per person, per day and includes entry to both the expo and seminars. Tickets are available online through Ticketmaster or can be purchased at the door. Parking is free!

    This event will benefit the museum and the association, supporting their shared mission to serve the fire and emergency medical services personnel of Long Island and New York state.

    “The State Chiefs leadership is looking forward to bringing this new educational opportunity to Long Island, and we’re thrilled to be working with the volunteers at the Islip Town Fire & EMS Museum on this event that will benefit all of New York’s fire and EMS responders,” said NYSAFC President Robert Kloepfer Jr.

  4. Rye Brook has ordered a new Spartan ERV Aerial Quint demo to replace the 2018 Spartan/Smeal destroyed in Hurricane Ida.

(authorized dealer Hendrickson Fire Rescue and Spartan Fire) has provided the Village with a letter dated December 13, 2021 providing an estimated contract price of $1,225,000 for a demonstration (demo) 2021 Spartan fire truck currently available with a 105’ aerial ladder in a quint configuration through Sourcewell, formerly the National Joint Purchasing Alliance (NJPA), in accordance with Contract No. 022818-SPR that was awarded on the basis of best value to Spartan Motors, Inc.; and

     


  5. Harrison has ordered a Pierce to replace Engine 12, which was damaged in Hurricane Ida and subsequently catastrophically damaged.

  6. From a recent Village Board meeting resolution, Tarrytown has purchased a Pierce for the replacement.

    NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown does hereby authorize the Village Administrator and the Village Treasurer to execute the necessary documents and to move forward to purchase a Pierce Pumper from Firematic Supply Company of E. Yaphank, NY, at a total approximate price as follows: Board of Trustees – Monday, December 6, 2021 Regular Meeting Agenda Page 5 of 6 Pierce Fire Apparatus per specifications $845,331 Sourcewell Discount $ -7,200 Custom Tool Mounting $ 15,000 Performance Bond $ 3,000 5-year bumper-to-bumper warranty $ 28,750 Total approximate cost $884,881 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any difference in the cost between the insurance monies already received, up to a total approximate amount of $122,547.00 would be funded out of operating funds, appropriation surplus, or the future issuance of debt, or some combination of these funding sources.
