RETIRED FDNY FIREFIGHTER WILLIAM "BILLY" QUICK-9/11 WTC Cancer The Secret List www.FireFighterCloseCalls.com It is with deep regret that we advise you that FDNY FF Billy Quick, 55 (Retired) has died from cancer. Billy was a very well known, colorful and popular FDNY Firefighter who the absolute definition of a Fireman's Fireman-from his fun side to the "job serious" side. Billy was also a 20+ year member of the Long Beach FD, in Nassau County, Long Island, New York. He leaves behind his wife, Lisa and 2 children, their twins Ryan Mary and William Henry, age 17. Tragically, Billy lost a short battle with what appeared to be effects suffered from operating at Ground Zero during 9/11. He was suffering from COPD, CHF along with other health issues. Before he passed away, he was hooked up around the clock to a machine that gave him the oxygen that his lungs no longer could take from the air. He will be reposing at Macken Mortuary 3930 Long Beach Road Island Park, NY on Thursday (01/20/11) 2-4pm & 7-9pm and Friday (01/21/11) 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Date: 12-18-2010 Time: 10:30am Location: Greenwood Lake Airport Frequency: 46.38 Units Operating: WMFD Co's 3,6,5 WMFAS, ALS901, WMPD, NJSP North Star, Air 1 (Atlantic HC) Weather Conditions: Clear / Cold Description Of Incident: Small single engine Cessna 182P was taxiing or trying to take off when it crashed at the end of a runway at the southern part of the airport. The 2 occupants were freed from the wreckage by the fire dept. and were treated by WMFAS and ALS then transported to Morristown MC Via medivacs (2). With non life threatening injuries.   5. I looked at the list of folks on the board and found it to funny that the guy who closed the patrol is now on the board to bring them back. Date: 12/1/2010 Time: 09:39 Location: I/F/O 1225 Macopin Road Frequency: 46.380 Units Operating: WMFD CO'S 4,1,6 Weather Conditions: RAIN / WIND Description Of Incident: Car was struck by a falling tree while traveling south on Macopin Rd. Vehicle came to rest 400 yards from the location it was struck. Two persons in the car and trapped Rescue 4 started rescue operations and removed the roof and doors to free the female passenger. The male driver was pronounced at the scene and the female was trnsported to St. Joseph Hospital in Paterson in serious cond. Reporters: Writer: CPAGE

  9. I think this is just a few people thta can not let go and will try anything to get it back. I would say as of October 16th, 2006 the NYC Fire Patrol is dead. I do not think the city will help out as they did not when the patrol was still open and looking for the FDNY and the city to step in and keep the doors open that did not happen then and it will not happen now. The way I read the new site is that they are looking to do this as a volunteer thing with the hope of getting paid later on down the road I do not see the union let this happen.   11. John was killed this am when his RMP struck a pole on Teaneck road near Police HQ. John has been on the job for the past 16 years. I had the honor of knowing John from when I worked for the Bogota NJ police dept. John was a great guy he would always be one of the first cars to show up when ever any one called for back up. John leave behind a Wife and a 6 year old son. My Thoughts and Prayers go out to John's family and fellow officers of the Teaneck Police Department. Rest in peace John you will be missed.

  16. On the morning of June 9th 2010 at 07:26 box 1036 was transmitted for a fire reported on the roof of a building at the corner. First due companies found heavy fire and smoke showing from the roof of the building. Ladder co. 25 set it's ladder to roof as the engine companies stretched lines to the stand pipe system and started to attack the fire. The fire started in a sixth floor apartment. The fire was knocked down within 10 minuets. Ladder co. 16 was assigned as the F.A.S.T. truck. Sorry all I had was my Blackberry photos are not that great.
