  2. I don't mind working EPCC. I have actually found I really enjoy it, and I have a greater appreciation and understanding of psychiatric patients, and understanding of their conditions. And believe me, when EPCC closes at night, half of the ER STILL tends to be filled with them taking up space.
  3. Saint Francis is, as NWFDMedic, almost ALWAYS full. When I work in the Emergency Psych Center there, I have the hardest time trying to find an accepting hospital to transfer most of them out, since our facilities can not handle the volume.
  4. I know that Beacon 33-55 has multiple different band radios in it, for just such situations. I had a friend give me a tour shortly after they received it. Read the description up top of the page. http://www.emtbravophotos.com/NewDeliverie...aconRescue.html I would also go so far as to assume that the chiefs and duty officers have ways to communicate with m/a departments.
  5. How do you manage your Company's website? Do you use any particular web developer, or FTP?
  6. Like OoO said, can't you just upload the file to the server for your site, and then when people go to click on a link it would look like "http://www.wassaicfirerescue.com/Application.pdf"
  7. I agree. Its throwing me off!!

  9. Glad to hear there were no serious injuries. Believe me, myself and all my co-workers @ Saint Francis were glad!! We heard about the MVA from EMS crews, and were prepared for the worst, and glad it never came.
  10. Ya know, I tend to agree with your concept. They're already in captivity. You know what happens to baby rapers, and baby killers in prison?? Put these guys in Rikers for a day, or week or month. Doubt you would find anyone to snitch on what happens, or any DA that would pursue charges against any allegations!
  11. Please keep all postings here pertinent to the topic on hand. Any bashing of any sort will not be tolerated.
  12. Sloper used to call out as 83-xx, OR Sloper Medic xx, again, I guess it just depended on who was working.
  13. Don't hate me just because I'm so good! The list is a little out of date, but here is one of the most comprehensive lists. http://nf2g.com/scannist/ny_dutc/dutchess_fire.txt Scanner Frequencies can be found here: http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?ctid=1838
  14. Very true. I wish we could see more of these brave ladies and gents come home soon!!!! And stop sending more over! Very cute little girl, very touching story for sure!
  15. Yes and no. The female was not in distress (other than any normal pregnancy) that we know of, and I am sure that the officer has heard a million and one different excuses to get out of a ticket, and was a little wary of believing them. I think there should be some sort of apology and/or punitive action, but also, I think firing is an extreme. People these days are always in a rush to look to sue, or get people fired for stupid things, and its sad our generation has to resort to that for everything. Stupid move on both parties parts?? Yes. Worthy of getting fired over? Not so much! Just my $0.02
  16. I know Rich, it is heart wrenching. I had kind of though of the same thing, having it saved, and can be used on Fire Prevention Days, or as PR, etc.... This rig ran with East Fishkill from 1990-1999, and before that, was owned and operated by the Elmont Fire Department out on Long Island. spin_the_wheel is the historian for that department. Hopefully he chimes in, and sees this thread. I would love to find a way to save this rig from the scrappers.
  17. Thanks Rob and Scott!!!! Real nice!! EFFP411 and I went to the scrap yard today and took a whole slew of pictures. Sad sad condition the old 39-45 is in! The guy at the scrap yard told me that there is "no way" of getting rid of it once a vehicle has been sold to them, some law they said. Craig, if you know of any ways, let me know, if I was able to arrange something, I would certainly save this!! Pictures to be posted later. Here a few pics!
  18. Here is a direct link since it is no longer on the main page. Good article for those of us to keep as a reminder, and good PR!! http://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/apps/pb...D=2008812030330
  19. I am merely posting my thoughts and interpretations/thoughts, not intended as a be-all-end-all.... I had always thought this issue related to actual issuing and procedural. If an officer in an unmarked witnessed something, they could pursue and attempt to pull over someone in an unmarked, btu could not issue tickets without a marked unit there. I think it stemmed from an incident with the NYSP. I repeat, I could be WRONG *gasp* , so please tell me what parts were right, or if I was straight up wrong! Also, Mark, where do you work to have all those qualifications??
  20. Bet its in sad condition. (not quite as bad as 225, lol)
  21. Hmmm, sounds like I am definitely making a trip up there on Friday!!
  22. Than comes the problem....not having $4500, lol!!
  23. Awww, thats sad!! Wish I could afford to buy it outta scrap.
  24. Wouldn't be the only time it got stuck in the mud from what I've heard!
