Ok gonna state an opinion here so don't shoot me. If your rig is a parade it should be out of service. I keep seeing you guys type "Well what if they have to respond to..." I would say if you need the rig to protect your town then it shouldn't be in a parade. It shouldn't be in a parade 20 miles away and it shouldn't be in a parde down the block. It should be in your firehouse. Now seeing as how I work for a career dept you all will probably think I'm anti this and that, but it just don't make sense.

Just an opinion...keep in mind I'm not from a Dept that does parades, I'm just a spectator.

A vehicle is a vehicle as long as it suits the needs of your Dept and get you where you need to go. Now about that rant saying that portables don't save lives. Every member that is gonna go into a working fire should have a portable. I'm not saying they need to be calling dispatch every minute, but they should have the Fireground Freqs. Have you never heard someone calling for help?

18% Tip included....f**k that! Who the hell are they to tell you how much to tip. I hate it when I see that. What if the waiter was a jerk or if the food sucked? Wasn't there a court case somewhere upstate that said the patron doesn't have to pay the tip if they don't want to? Damn now I'm hungry...does this place deliver? Sorry for the rant.
