  2. Seth, Let me know when you want to photo Truck 2 in Norwalk. I will set up something for when I am on duty for you to come by. We have some other apparatus you might enjoy seeing.
  3. I was told by a salesman at maritme motors in Fairfield,Ct that there is soon going to be a gas station in Greenwich selling E85 flex fuel, possibly by the end of the year.
  4. They had an old American LaFrance stick. Im not sure of any other details.
  5. Does anyone know of any NYFF Burn Center seminars coming up in the near future?? I haven't heard anything lately. Any info would be great. Thanks.
  6. Norwalk has just taken delivery of an 05 Sutphen tower on a Spartan chassis. I saw the rig this morning for the first time and it is pretty nice. Not sure when it will be in service. It is going to be designated as Truck Co. 2.

  8. Boston use to run 100' sticks on single axle E- One chassis. Im not sure if they still make them. I also know for the past few years that Boston has been buying Pierce engines and trucks, so I'm thinking they didnt have good luck with the E-Ones.
  9. Just curious if anyone knows if Rescue 3 will still run citywide with there collapse unit??
  10. You are right. It is the first time that Sutphen has ever mounted one of there TL'son chsis other than there own. We have had good luck with the Spartan chassis, and the mechanics find it much easier to have all the same rigs, inventory wise. When Truck 2 goes in service, every engine and truck co. in the city will be on a Spartan chassis. As for the light bars, we have a LED bar on the Rescue. I personally like the aerodynic lightbars, it gives the classic look.
  11. I will work on getting some pics.

  14. You can also try some hair shampoo, that works well also, and I am sure everyone has some of that around.
  15. The only good thing to do with the webbing in my opinion is to make yourself a harness, but you need a pretty long piece. I think the webbing because it is flat, you would not be able to stop yourself while sliding on it. When you need to bail out of a situation in a hurry, you are not going to have time to do all of these different things. I think a good piece of rope and a good solid anchor point, whether it be a radiator, a couch or even your scba harness, is your best bet. That is just my opinion.
  16. Occupied Structural Work, in other words fires.
  17. Runs count as every call taken in. The real way to see how busy a company is to look at the OSW's. You can take in all the runs you want, but at the end of the year in my book, its the OSW's that count.

  20. No invitation needed in Boston. Guys meet at Florian Hall which is in the Dorchester area of the city, and there are busses to bring the guys over to South Boston.
  21. Before you knock boston why dont your try it. I have done NYC for many years. Last year we decided to do Boston, and it was a great time. And also, there are more NYC fireman that do that parade than there own parade, so maybe that will tell you something.
  22. Guys, I live right on the water, with not many houses around me. I pick up some crazy stuff on the scanner. I think it definitely helps to have not much around you. I only have a few 2 1/2 story houses ardound me, so my antenna is higher than those houses. DMcCabe
  23. Anyone can and does march in the city parade. But if you a better time, go to the Boston parade. The bagpipe band I play with went up there last year and it was an uunbelievable time, I won't go back to the city after going there. I also think there are more city fireman in Boston than in NYC. That is due to all of the B.S. they are going through. DMcCabe
