  1. Firefighter - Application now available

    The Town of Westport will be accepting applications for testing for the position of Firefighter beginning April 18, 2014. At that time, applications will be available from the Town of Westport Personnel Department at 110 Myrtle Ave, Room 208, Westport, CT 06880.

    Applications and Resumes can be submitted by email to personnel@westportct.gov or be sent it to Personnel Department, Attn: Debra Ferrante, Westport Town Hall;110 Myrtle Ave; Westport, CT 06880.

    The application process will close on May 20, 2014 at 4:30 p.m.

    Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, a non-smoker, and have a valid driver’s license. Candidate will also need valid EMT and CPAT certifications at the time of appointment. Candidates will also be required to take a written, oral and swimming test.

    Finance Board: No for Now to $1.2 Million SAFER Grant

    The Westport Board of Finance unanimously agreed tonight not to support the Fire Department's acceptance of a $1.2 million federal grant to hire eight new firefighters until compromises over benefits and pensions can be reached with union officials.

  3. Great Job by ALL in the class. Thanks for bearing with us and adapting to the severe weather and malfunctioning burn building. Again, this is still the basics and there are so many more classes to take during your time in the fire service.   4. Only 12 applications recieved at this time. Need 20 to run the testing. Get applications in ASAP or they will cancel.

    The FFI and FFII national certification testing is a go for August 1st and 2nd in Westchester. We still have a few openings if you get the applications in by this Friday at Noon to the training center. Info on the website www.emergencyservices.westchestergov.com
