Too often, locations are given that aren't accurate, so it was determined that's it's best to start out the troops and cancel them if needed rather then request them after the fact.

You missed the planning meeting when this response protocol was put into play for all emergencies in the park. The parking lot is HFD's jurisdiction. TFD has the emergency access point at the SMP/Marble Ave and PFD has the access point off Foshay Ave.

How great is it that, with the exception of some everyday ailments that come along with fighting fires, no one was injured. The possible leadership issues, possible empty tanker, possible malfunctioning smoke detection system are all insignificant at this point. I hope each member of the GBFD had a nice meal with family tonight, lets Monday morning quarterback and solve all of the World's problems and GBFD's potential problems another day.

Grumpy is correct, the new Engine will be E90 with E260 replacing E259 as our spare.

I don't have a picture but look at Hicksville FD's Rescue 8.

I've been toying with the idea of leading and reactivating the FAST in my department and finally seem to have enough support to make some serious steps toward making this happen. AVET classes are being offered more frequently in Westchester at both the WCFTC, Katonah Satellite and the Mamaroneck Satellite. Hybrids are discussed in an entirely different course....not offered often in Westchester, to my knowledge.

Who owns the firehouses? The individual companies?

While I was a Mutual Aid Member of the Potsdam Fire Department we were kept quite busy from college calls. Both Clarkson University and SUNY Potsdam were in our 1st due district. They contributed funds to the fire department. A significant amount of the funds used to purchase Tower 5 came from the colleges.
