  3. thank you that anseered my question and i guess as the years go on the county police might switch over to trunked to i asume
  4. I always hear charlie 1 and david 1 on sod channel responding to hazmat calls ive heard that they are based out of floyd bennit field but what is there ultimate purpose. are they strictly hazmat or can they respond to typical esu calls and are they the guys that stand by at wall street with the big guns or is that seperate
  5. yea you pretty much answered my question thanks
  6. is this system fully online and is the county police switching over as wel
  7. did they catch the bastard yet? hes making the fire service look really bad and now people will fear pulling over for us real fireman who have to get to a call
  8. I know the chargers are very popular in the police service the dodge magnums are out there but are not to popular. They would be good for a k9 unit or anyone that needs to carry more equipment.
  9. i think its a great idea and any department that runs an aviation unit should defidently have roof or trunk numbers
  10. hey im steve im a volunteer fire man with kent and have been a member for about a year and i enjoy what i do
  11. some one should just throw that guy in the happy house obviosly he needs a little help and some strong medication
  12. do you mean the new m-8 cars?
  13. the electricl problem would be the stuff added to make it fire apparatus otherwise everything else works...nothing worse than having a broken siren on the taconic during rush hour and ive heard that the new mack granite is a pretty reliable truck some departments are starting to use this without problems
  14. custom cabs are great in fact our 16-4-2 which is an american la france is our most reliable but for some departments that are on a tight budget the custom cabs are not an option. It also depends on the departments needs as well. In putnam 4 wheel drive is essential in winter especially on the narrow roads in kent. I havent seen 4 wheel drive as an option in custom cabs and the flat nose trucks do not handle well in snow at all
  15. sterlings are popular with my department. they are reliable engine wise but we do have electrical problems every now and then especially our 16-2-1
  16. yea they could of aranged the locomotives better might be the last year of the fl9's because of all of the new bl2ogh's i was also hoping to see the mta pd esu this year they usually have a nice set up. this is one of my favorites...go giants
