City/County: Mahopac/Croton Falls border-Putnam/Westchester Agencies: Mahopac FD, Croton Falls FD, North Salem VAC, WEMS Paramedics, Alamo EMS, Somers FD, Carmel VAC, Carmel PD. Frequency: Putnam County Dispatch Writer: BuffMedic236 Description: The Mahopac fire department was dispatched along with other agencies to a head on collision, car vs. school bus carrying camp children. Fire and EMS personel treated all the children which were transported to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation. The driver from the other vehicle was transported to Danbury Hospital. Bus driver was RMA.

  4. As for the members of my FD, we only wear our bunkers to car accidents or in bad weather. Now the fireman in New Rochelle are not allowed to run EMS calls in shorts, they either need station pants or bunkers. We had this converstyion today at work, being thet it was hot and muggy today. I think that we need shorts too!
  5. I think that you have been taight well to take BP's but I would consider pumping up the cuff to at least 200 mmHg not 140 or 150. Even though most people reside in that range, you will find that most elderly patients BP's are much higher, ie those with medical problems. Make sure to LEARN what are the most common BP medications out there. It will give you a hint. Also there is always the all so popular: Vital-Vision
