  10. When I volunteer at home, we normally transport to Putnam Hospital. If needed we'll go to Danbury Hospital which is a level II trauma center, or Westchester Medical when indicated. At work, normally it's White Plains Hospital or Sound Shore if I am working in New Rochelle. WMC is about 10 minutes from White Plains. Sound Shore is a level II trauma center as well, if we need a level one, we will either go to WMC or Jacobi in the Bronx.
  11. Well, part of what is going on with Empire is that their CEO, Bob Trainor has left them. I am unsure if he left on his own terms or was let go. It is the usual moves that this company has done through out the years. There was a reason that Empire's reputation was BAD! Yes, they tried turning it around, but what do you expect from the same management team that has let them fail over and over again. In this business volunteer or paid, management is everything!!!! If they can't get themselves together, it's time to bow out gracefully and save face. I just hope they don't mess up Putnam. Cause if they do, you can kiss ESA goodbye, just like CMT and other of Mr. Trainor's now defunct companies..... So much wasted potential.
  12. You are correct. The Stat Mobile team is currently using a smaller mod ambulance while their permament truck is being prepped.
  13. The new Huge ambulance that the Stat-Mobile team will be using is currently in TransCare's Mt. Vernon operations base. Last I heard, it was awaiting the final approval on the paint scheme. The Medics and EMT's that have been hired for the Mobile team are dedicated to the truck and will be starting their training soon. They will be doing along with a nurse and physicians the Pediatric and Neo-nate ground transports. As well as some adult critical transports in the region.

  19. LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
  20. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. The TC EMS community has you in our thoughts and prayers.
  21. Congrats to you two. Wait, while you are away, who is gonna dispatch us?
  22. Well, I must say that I was one that was against the movie, my thinking is it's too soon. However, I gave in and went to see it today. I was curious to see how that day would be depicted. Personally, it was a tough movie to watch. Seeing the depiction of the towers collapsing and seeing everyone one run for their lives, brought back some unwanted memories of that day. But I must say, I thought the cimematography was excellent, it was a story of two survivors but in the end, I felt it told the story of all of us who helped that day. The only thing that I disliked about the movie had to do with the fact that they made no reference to the EMT's/Paramedics who lost their lives that day...I can name at least 5. It's a tough movie to digest, but it was worth it.
  23. Felicidades!!!!!
  24. You know, this is what gives paid providers a bad rap. I am paid and volunteer, and I am professional in both jobs. You should be ashamed of making such a comment!
  25. The new Putnam ALS contract is designed to supplement the EMS agencies in the county. Medic 3 and Medic 4 will change to ambulances. Being that they run the most calls and are in the areas where volunteer response times are higher. When the volunteer agency can not assemble a crew in a timely manner, the paid ALS ambulance will handle the call. Hopefully, this will decrease the wait time in some areas before an aided case gets an ambulance. The only bad side to the story is if the call is BLS and the paid ambulance has to transport, the medic will be out of service temporarily.
