  1. I must admit I just as much a Facebook Wacker as a Bravo wacker. I dont even think about it becuase they dont and shouldnt mix. Facebook is for friend connections and letting the rest of the world know what, where, when, and why. Although there is a lot going on right now and I use it to keep updating family. Bravo is for exactly what it says. "Your knowledge helping others". Fire, EMS, and Rescue Buffs. Its the little people who mix them up.
  2. Sometimes the public can be so stuiped..... The Last thing that Officer wants to do is Draw his Firearm and use it!!!!!! That is not something they wake up in the morning or night and look forward to doing. That officer is going to live with that the rest of his life. Not a pleasant feeling but unfortunately part of the job... Its America unfotunately opionins are like _________ everyone has one.....

  5. http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/20101005/pl_yblog_upshot/rural-tennessee-fire-sparks-conservative-ideological-debate In Obion County, Tenn. In rural Obion County, homeowners must pay $75 annually for fire protection services from the nearby city of South Fulton. If they don't pay the fee and their home catches fire, tough luck -- even if firefighters are positioned just outside the home with hoses at the ready. Gene Cranick found this out the hard way. When Cranick's house caught fire last week, and he couldn't contain the blaze with garden hoses, he called 911, but the South Fulton firefighters refused to do anything. They did, however, come out when Cranick's neighbor -- who'd already paid the fee -- called 911 because he worried that the fire might spread to his property. Once they arrived, members of the South Fulton department stood by and watched Cranick's home burn; they sprang into action only when the fire reached the neighbor's property. "I hadn't paid my $75 and that's what they want, $75, and they don't care how much it burned down," Gene Cranick told WPSD, an NBC affiliate in Kentucky. "I thought they'd come out and put it out, even if you hadn't paid your $75, but I was wrong." Ouch!!!

  15. Sounds like a good idea chief, unfortunately we wont follow in your foot steps, makes too much sense. It seems the Fire District has very little say and the Rescue Squad has even less!!! The Town is the ultimate ruler over EMS in Pleasant Valley From the Poughkeepsie Urinal: Volunteers on the Pleasant Valley Rescue Squad respond to medical emergencies in the evenings, overnights and on weekends. Because of work obligations, many of the volunteers are not available to respond to medical emergencies during weekdays, requiring the assistance of the professional ambulance service. We do respond during the day, not alot but we do! We also send our paid staff to high priority calls to assist Hudson Valley Paramedics. I think if anything Mr Hart and Mr McNair should come down and fill out an application! I have 3 duty crew shifts and would be more than happy to give them one.
  16. http://www.nypost.com Members of the FDNY are among firefighters planning to run from Los Angeles to New York in remembrance of the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks. The Tour of Duty run starts at the Santa Monica Pier Thursday in Los Angeles at 8:46 a.m., when the first plane struck the twin towers. A team of 15 American and 15 Australian runners will be divided into three teams of 10, running for six hours in relay, then 12-hours off. The cycle continues for 24 hours a day until they reach New York. Runners will go to Las Vegas and then east to Oklahoma City, New Orleans and Chicago before finishing in New York on Sept. 11. They will travel 4,600 miles. Updates will be posted on the FDNY’s Facebook and Twitter sites. Funds raised will be donated to charities.
