  10. It's a site they are using to dispense the sediment. It's 50 miles north of Albany. There's a barge unloading facility, sediment dewatering and treatment facilities as well as temporary staging areas. DEP acquired about 110 acres of vacant farmland. That was part of the GE development for the Hudson River Dredging Project. I don't know if GM will be using that same site or a different location. http://www.hudsondredging.com/about-the-project/
  11. GM is actually paying for this too, the cost is estimated at $10 million and will take 2 years to complete. They were/are going to be removing about 0.8 acres worth of sediment. Does anyone know if they are using the Fort Edwards site for offloading the sediment?
  12. is the non red half supposed to be white or that pinkish color?

  14. 7 of the 8 "legacy" tankers are currently fielded by Neptune. If no protest if filed, the planes must be flight ready within 60 days of the contract being finalized. If one is filed, the Government Accountability Office must make a ruling within 100 days.
  15. According to the article I posted above (see controversy comment) 10 Tanker Air Carrier and Coulson Aircrane (USA) Inc. (same owner as Coulson Aviation) received contracts for the new planes.
  16. According to this article there appears to be some controversy over this whole thing.
  17. Next generation air tankers are turbine powered, can carry a minimum of 3,000 gallons of retardant, and have a cruise speed of at least 300 knots when fully loaded. It looks like they're going with DC-10's.
  18. I'm friends with him on facebook, I'll ask him. Didn't even think about that. Thanks Edit: spoke to him, they're only doing Mamo as down county parades from what he knows of.

  20. I know of everything the WCPJA are involved in but nothing down county and nothing they're not judging. I'm kinda getting tired of the northern stuff and wouldn't mind checking out some of the down county parades. There was a thread created a couple months ago regarding the 2013 parades but when I search for it, I come up empty.
  21. Due to budget issues in the city of Syracuse (NY), the city has been forced to close the firehouse for Engine Co. 7. The firehouse reportedly is in dire need of repairs and the city would rather close the house than to fix it. Engine 7 and its mini-pumper is/was the busiest in the city and often responded 2nd, 3rd and RIT to structure fires. http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2013/04/syracuse_fire_chiefs_union_deb.html

  23. Occasionally I'm seeing 2 threads for the same topic by the same person who created the thread. I'm not sure if 2 threads were actually created or it's doubling up somehow. Also the EmtBravo User Forums link is very picky. If I don't click on the u in forums, it won't work. Using Google Chrome
  24. Not really. Those of us who care about the info we post in I/A's will take our time and make it as informative as possible. Those who don't and just want to get it up and only put a brief description will get it up faster. The one thing I would suggest is to remove the district and or maybe the weather tabs in the the template. I don't see the need for it.
