  1. I will definitely be there taking photos
  2. News 12 Westchester did a story on it. Funny part is, just after they said only 1 side is able to be used a black car was seen in the background backing into that side of the bay. I guess the building wasn't necessarily deemed as dangerous yet but "could" be dangerous.

  7. I remember this fire, it was a massive blaze. I live in Oss and Ladder 42 was right there. I know they called Croton and likely Sleepy for mutual aid that day. Does anyone remember the Lucy's Pizza fire? Talk about another major blaze. They had every Oss truck, Croton, Sleepy, Millwood, Chappaqua and I think Briarcliff. I could be wrong about B'cliff but I know the others were all on scene.
  8. I heard from someone in the dept after it came back that it was an automatic alarm that was nothing.
  9. good stuff you got there
  10. For more images from this event please go to my photo page. The Westchester Scene Photography These were just a few of the truck, I have a ton more but too many to post on here. Thanks
  11. Great shots, I'm just beginning to get into fire related photography but have been a self photographer for about 5 years now.
  12. I have a bunch of photos from the wetdown as well as a couple videos. They're all up at the following link: The Westchester Scene Photography There are too many images to post in a thread so people may check em out there. You can also youtube Thornwood Wetdown and there's a couple vids I shot of the new truck and such on it.
  13. I will def be there taking photos and from what I've been told it's a Wetdown.
  14. From a friend inside of OFD, "I've heard it would be too confusing to have 3 3's. So they skipped the 3 and went to the 4 so you can tell the difference." He's not 100% certain on this but that's what he's heard and he's been in the fd for a few years. Makes sense to me but then again I'm no expert either.
  15. good question. Car 2334 is quite often mixed up as 2333. I've even seen it on this site. I'm not a fireman, just a photographer/enthusiast but have a bunch of friends inside OFD. I'll ask em and if nobody gets back to you on this I'll respond back.
  16. I'll probably come and take photos as well.
  17. I am a photographer as well and recommend the 50 mm. I own a Canon 7D and recently bought the 50 mm 1.8 though I now realize I should have shelled out the extra $200 for the 1.4. I would also recommend a 24-70 mm just to own, it is one of the most versatile lenses you will own. I have a 18-55 mm, 28-90 mm, 70-200 mm f/2.8L IS USM, 70-300 mm IS USM, and a 50 mm 1.8. I edit all my photos through Camera Raw which is found through Adobe Bridge and Adobe Photoshop CS3 (I just upgraded to CS5 but am yet to install it) http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=237353&id=50553669568 http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=237336&id=50553669568 http://www.facebook.com/thewestchesterscenephotography
