  1. Ahh! Thank you. What do they use it for? Do they use the rig as a command post?
  2. I seem to recall a picture of YFD rescue 1 from an aerial perspective. It showed the light tower and I believe there was some other sort of mast? Does anyone know what this is?
  3. What are the large hubs on the rear wheels of the collapse rescue? Does it have a central tire inflation system?
  4. The mack rescue engine is a pretty sweet setup!
  5. The rear compartment on engine 2 looks exceptionally large...do the engines there carry extrication equipment?
  6. wow...they fill that first truck up in about 30 seconds...impressive!
  7. what are those pieces of equipment on the first track. Are they designed to melt the snow off the tracks, or are they giant blowing devices?
  8. When a front line piece goes OOS, do they move to a spare rig or a reserve rig?
  9. Nice rig! Will this function as an attack engine, or with the front mount pump will it be more of a source pumper?
  10. Makes sense with a department that big to have the training come to the companies, and not the other way around. Thanks
  11. Are those warning lights on the top of the tiller cab?
  12. Nice Shots! What does the mobile training truck function as?
  13. What engine do these freightliner chassis use? I don't see an issue maintaining custom chassis as long as the engine speced is the same as the one that the public works trucks use.
  14. How does the amount of compartment space compare between the trucks FDNY operates. I would imagine that of the three (tiller, rearmount, and tower ladder) the tower would have the least amount of compartment space.
  15. Do FDNY tower ladders carry extrication equipment?
  16. there used to be a nice page with pictures of all Fort Worth fire apparatus, but I cant seem to find it now
  17. What kind of light towers do they use?
  18. looks like this quint can handle just about anything!
  19. Do they run their quints as true quints, or trucks with pumps?
  20. Most of their engines appear to be set up as squads. All of their new engines have light towers as well, which is unique, as most large fire departments dont even spec generators, let alone light towers, on their engines.
  21. Thats a very unique pump panel layout. It must make servicing the pump easy. It is interesting that there are no rear intakes or discharges, as in most rear mount pumps...all intakes and discharges appear to be off the side.
  22. Quick question...it appears that 306 and 308 have no crosslays, but the newer engine 309 has crosslays, as well as squad 11. Has YFD decided to spec crosslays on all new engines?
  23. Is the pierce rescue 1 not holding up? It is only 5 years old is it not? Why is it being replaced so soon?
  24. How did the old Fire Patrol function? With only three companies, did they respond to all fires, or only large fires?
  25. The e-one outrigger spread is very narrow...if you can open the cab doors you can set up the aerial.
