  1. fair enough. thanks for the input!
  2. thanks for the link, I know where Ill buy used snow removal equip now!
  3. Dutchess as compared to attending Westchester? or you're just listing another semi local example?
  4. Helicopper, we are on the same page for both careers. I agree on the medical, any one visit to the AME can be one that changes everything. just as any transport can be one that results in injury. For now I plan to focus on getting my final answer from the FAA. The results will tell me what path i take. either result I have a backup, and on top of that back up, i still hold a less favorable career interest, but I could see myself doing it. I know we have never really spoken but, I'll assume you're in PD Aviation, therefore you truly understand how "frightening" a medical can really be. Safe Skies and of course Happy Flying!
  5. check your personal messages when you get the chance.
  6. I have indeed joined MED and start CFR this Wednesday. I'm looking forward to it. We got to meet an EVAC crew last week and I can tell they definetly have come a long way. Sorry to hear the Flight Career was cut short, I've got several friends out of HPN who sit in your shoes and now also enjoy the Private Pilot side of things. I'm going to OMN tomorrow and I'm going to see if the Tower will shoot me some colors for a little bit.
  7. Thanks for the advice Johnny! I am indeed at ERAU. I am working with a professor and the CFI to help resolve the issue as best I can. My true passion lies in the flight deck in the air and not on the ground. I am actually currently in their safety sciences degree, with the flying on the side until we have a say in the issue from the FAA. Without getting into too much detail and taking up a paragraph, I have spoken with the NTSB and several accident investigation agencies. Again not having a Class 1 unrestricted with time as ATP or Comm Cert Pilot becomes an issue if I was to pursue field investigation (that was my aviation back up). If it doesn't work out, it is for the safety of the skies, and I understand. Luckily for me I have back ups on top of the back up of EMT/ Paramedic. I currently when I'm home work as a Theatrical Electrician designing shows, and working on sets. SUNY Purchase, Manhattenville, and Sarah Lawrence all offer the degree. I guess I gotta wait and see where the flight path/ road takes me for now. PS.. USA is hiring around 80,000 pilots between 2015-2029 as they are drilling it into our heads down here. If you still have your certs you might wanna re-consider if your flying dream is still sparked. ERAU lost 5 instructors last week alone to one airline.
  8. Again thank you all for your responses! and yes! flying does make a great hobby. the hobby of it however is a lot different then the career at 37,000 feet.
  9. no worries nice shots of TL2!
  10. PEMO, thank you for your quick response! I will look into it. This is what I was curious about.
  11. I can happily confirm to ya'll that is tower ladder 2. TL53 was there for the opening game.

  13. What engine is in the ford ambulance diesel? I have the 6.0 in my ford truck and can hear the turbo spool... but i never hear that in the local diesel ambulances... am I just not paying attention? Diesel is the way to go. Lasts longer, on both ends, it will last longer then a gas engine and it burns less. And of course the power is there too! I have an example on the fuel efficiency: I can drive my diesel (picked it up in april) (6.0 Powerstroke) around 400 miles without having to refuel The same truck which is (5.4 Triton) gas engine I was filling up every 170 miles if I was lucky.
  14. IMO its important to have both a Data and Voice Recorder.
  15. Yes Sir!
  16. Interesting... Turning? calculates if the driver was close or outside the suggested turn and can tell at which point the truck rolled? Do they have voice recorders or just data? I think voice plays an important roll as well....
  17. Just to clarify the same "black box" that serves its purpose of data recording in an aircraft?
  18. I SAW THIS TWO WEEKS AGO! LOL. I was driving down to Florida for school from NY... didnt have time to stop or take pictures but was also wondering what it was. Everything from a mini attack to an ARFF truck was there.... interesting little lot of land.
  19. Hence the reason I will never be a reporter. I have something called a soul.
  20. Absolutely Disgusting. My aunt is a reporter for a major international news company, I'm talking if you turned on a certain channel you'd see her every night. However I'd prefer not to name it. This one really ticked me off so I called her to get her opinion both from the media side and as a news professional. She immediately said it is highly unprofessional to be attempting a comment so soon after an incident and that people need to understand that someone going through a tragedy needs space she agreed, low-level media scum at it once again.
  21. Said it right there. Disgusting on THEIR part.
  22. What else could we possibly attract? More A320's!!! Id be happy But In all seriousness, what is their true concern for "louder" aircraft. Living on the final approach path for 34, I can care less if its an A320 or a 172, neither are truely bothersome... And what jetBlue and AirTran currently operate right now, essentially are as big as it is going to get...is it frequency that has them concerned?
  23. It just amazes me how little concern it seems they have for the little boy. I would be upset to growing up to find out something like that was released publicly.
  24. I saw the documentary as well, and felt a little like they tried to "sugar coat" her as a person. Either way test results proved she was drunk and high. As someone else stated, they brought in a leading ME who clearly in person stated to them, Westchester followed all the proper procedures and filed everything correctly. Was anyone else surprised by the choice of photos they showed towards the end of the show? How do you get away with showing that on TV?
