Listen folks. I wouldn't be too worried about seeing a Stinger Missle flying off a rooftop at the hand of an NYPD cop any time soon. They may have the capability, but lack the leadership to give the order. Lets remember. This is the same department that let rioting go on for days in Crown Heights before the Cops were deployed in a manner to actually combat the rioters. The same department that gives charges to officers that defend themselves against a violent EDP that's moving to strike a female civilian with a chair. The same department that issued their officers jacketed ball round ammunition because the term "hollow point" was to controversial thanks to the media, and not until the term "limited expansion round" was created did the officers get them issued. I could go on all afternoon. It is a tribute to the MEN and women on that job that anything get done at all. Because despite the RANK. The FILE still seems to keep things moving along. 165 years of traditon. Undetered by progress.

The repair shop you see in Queens is Queens Central Repair. That is like the HQ for Fleet Services. The major jobs like rebuilds and stuff are done there. That is also where "new car" is. When new purchases are done that is where they install equipment. Around the corner is the radio shop, and that as you can figure is the place the new computers and radios are put in.
Each boro has a "fleet services shop" Some have two, and the boro is split on where they go. Some have specialty stuff like a body shop as well. These shops are where most of the PM stuff is done. They will also do some of the liter work mechanical wise. The major sutff goes to queens.
The place that the department usually gets the cars from has an office in LI City, but the shops are out in NJ. I can't recall the name off hand but you can get state bid stuff from them too. This plant also does the markings on the sides witht he exception of the command and car number, and they also don't put on the department seal.

They just announced we are going to give 100 million dollars in aid to this country. It would be cheaper if we used our industry here in the US to build prefab homes and ship them over there. In the mean time. They could bulldoze whatever shacks and whatnot they still have standing or not. Clear that land and just start dropping houses. Didn't we just get done rebuilding this country not to long ago? I'm all for assisting with rescue efforts. Don't get me wrong. But when is enough. Enough?
