  1. Sssshhh...it really is EFD's Rescue 5 making a comeback. At the last minute they're going to switch out the door decals. But at the apparatus show, who's going to bother looking at a new Rescue if it says Eastchester on the doors?

Here's how the conversation would go..

FF1 (name is Chester): "Woo wee...that sure is a pretty Rescue Vinny..."

FF2 (name is Vinny): "Chester, Eastchester..Where the hell is that?"

    FF1: "It's up in Westchester."

FF2: "Run that by me one more time Chester..."

FF1: "It's only a few miles south of Port Chester.."

Curious... does FF2 "Vinny" make this conversation with a medium sized DD coffee in his hand? lmao!

FF2: "And that's in Westchester Chester?"

FF1: "Yes. Port Chester and Eastchester are in Westchester."

FF2: "Where is the beer concession Chester?"

    FF1: "THIRD BASE!"

    :)

  2. One of the most thrilling times I had when I volunteered in Eatchester was being fortunate enough to have responded in R-5 on storm duty. It was a great rig even though there was little to no room in the cab. After it left Eastchester it was turned over to Westchester County be become a trench rescue vehicle I believe. This never came to reality and I believe(could be wrong)that the county sold it for $75.00 not being able to run.

  3. With the budget crisis going on, are they still going for extra money for these polished wheels, or maybe they are just on the rig for the show....?

Hey Capt Rescue 5... Shouldn't that say Eastchester on the side...wishfull thining!! lol ! :P

  4. Yes this should serve as a wake up call....to ALL students/ younger people out there who choose to drink and drive, drive and text, disobey a police officer ESPECIALLY during a chaotic emergency, WAKE UP. Long past time to quell reckless behavior. Too many young people DIE behind the wheel because of immature, panicky, or judgement impaired decisions. This one is particularly tragic because a police officer will have to carry the weight of a decision NO police officer should ever have to make.

I know a retired Albany cop who comes down here. Years ago he had to use deadly force on the job. He still carries it.

Another part of the "gift" of his pension...

SO true Capt. Being in the classroom I can tell you first hand that the youth of America feel that there are NO consequenses to their actions. If the dear darlings get into trouble its the parents to the rescue. They put all kinds of pressure on administration who always buckles and the kid then gets away with it. In my day if I got in trouble I was more afraid of going home then going to the principals office. Unfortunatly, the youth of America are not held accountable for their actions. Always the other guys falt. It's a sad road they are going down!

  5. Good Morning America had Henry's parents on Friday morning. THEY stated that they do not want this to be about race! They just want all the facts truthfully so they can put this horrible occurance in prespective and try as a family to get through it. The father said he does not want people coming forward with half truth's, lies etc. He just wants the truth period. However, the media has twisted and turned this horrible event. Its been days and days of media coverage. Now,God forbid if officer Hess was killed in the line last Sunday night there would have been coverage up to the day of the funneral and then the next day we all would have heard crickets on the story on the news. The media needs to stop reporting so the people who actualy know how to do a thourough and proper investigation can do there jobs and then lets all hear the true facts and not all this "possibilities".

  6. It was the second day of school and i had just started teaching. I was sitting in the classroom on a free period and one of the deans came in a said that a plane had hit the WTC. I thought it was a small Cesna or something. it was not until i looked on the net that isaw the amount of damage to the building and knew it was no Cesna that hit the building. My FD phone started to ring off the hook and I know i would never, ever forget that morning!
