  1. I’m trying to learn more to be better prepared of the next MCI in Westchester.

Does 60 Control still have the prearrange run cards which I believe have spaces for your first 5 engines, ladders, tankers and rescues, and ect? Which the Chief the gives 60 Control on his wishes the Chief is the “AHJ”. If 60 Control did use the prearrange run card than there is no argument here. But if 60 Control did not follow the prearrange run cards then why? I believe that is a valid question to ask.

Making a decision on calling resources outside of the run cards is it made by the dispatch himself or dispatch supervisor at that time? I think a IC of a incident should know who make that call.

How offer does 60 Control make a department update the run cards? (Yearly)

Does 60 control share the run cards to different agencies so that they are aware that there resources can called to Fire Department XZY. Which can help a department be better prepared for an incident.

    Thanks

  2. Thanks Johnny

Does West Harrison have a live burn policy like Westchester DES does?

Changes with in NFPA 1403 requiring lead instructor having Fire Instructor 1. Does your required Fire Instructor 1 or Live Fire Training & Conducting Live Fire Training Evolutions to become an officer to meet NFPA 1403.

I read somewhere that a training building does help a fire Department ISO rating. Does ISO look for certain fire training props.

    thanks

  3. Well all the departments you listed including Ossining are a 12-15 minute drive to Valhalla's station. It's not about speed and who is closest for relocations, it's how to balance all of the resources in the county. A relocation is not an emergency per se. It is better to skip over several departments so that wide gaps in coverage aren't created in the process. Hawthorne, Valhalla, North White Plains, Elmsford, Thornwood, and Briarcliff had units committed to this job during rush hour. Leaving TFD, SHFD, PHFD, WHFD, AFD, untouched meant that whichever company relocated to VFD would have had a full complement of second due departments nearby available to respond to another major incident.

West Harrison (3.5 Miles) , and Armonk (6.2 Miles) and White Plains (3.5 Miles) Ossining (10.4 Miles) Tarrytown (5.3 Miles) Sleepy Hollow (6.1 Miles) Purchase (5.4 Miles) Port Chester (9.9 miles)

  4. What is what is the status of West Harrison Fire Training Center? I hear that there was some damage to the building. Did West Harrison add anything to there Fire Training Center?

Why doesn't West Harrison try to working with DES to use it as a satellite site?

  5. 1. There's nothing wrong with the guy using a parking cone as a simulated p**** and bending over one of his fellow firefighters? (clear violation of sexual harassment sensitivity policy)

    2. There's nothing wrong with the firefighter spinning the backboard around like a helicopter in close proximity to his fellow firefighters? (obvious risk of injury).

    3. There's nothing wrong with the firefighters haphazardly using taxpayer funded equipment to make an internet video that has no benefit to the taxpayer or the organization? If they tear a dive suit while rolling around on the engine room floor or scratch the truck dancing around with a pickaxe are they going to pay for it out of pocket? Or just tell the Chief that they don't know what happened?

Glad to hear that you guys have no rules or policies in Kiribati (or is this just your opinion and your superiors would offer a much different perspective when asked...especially on camera when interviewed by the media after an internet video scandal?)...I'll be sure to look for your department's name on the cover of the newspaper when I'm reading it in my office and taking myself seriously...

Here is one from the U.S. Army

What is wrong with a little fun.

  6. I have talked to West Harrison 2nd Lieutenant about their jr. program. The program has done joint drill this year with Village of Mamaroneck, North White Plains, Valhalla, and Port Chester. It seems that West Harrison Jr advisers have great deal of pride in this program. Also it seems that their advisers work great as a team because their Jr. drills every Wed. night. Their Chief must be proud of what their advisers get done. Keep the kids into it. Knowing that most department in the county may only have a hand full of Jr. Members. Here is one department that are looking to get young people into the fire service early Keep up that great Job.

    Look at West Harrison Website

Here are the name of their Advisers

    2nd Lieutenant: Matthew Fitzgerald

    Safety Officer: Rocco Umbro

    Firefighter: Jerry Barbagallo

    Firefighter: Lenny Callagy

Here are the Photo that are on Their Website
