  1. Hello Friends, Family and Colleagues, It's official...EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION IS COMING TO LONG ISLAND FOR A DESERVING FAMILY IN SUFFOLK COUNTY. Alure Home Improvements will again lead the build and help inspire the Long Island Community to come together for a great cause and heartwarming experience. The exact town and family cannot be released until the door knock on MONDAY, JUNE 21ST. However, unlike any of the previous 7 makeovers we've done, we for the first time, we have the opportunity to have a PEP RALLY a WEEK BEOFRE THE DOOR KNOCK to recruit volunteers and community support. The Pep Rally will be THIS MONDAY, JUNE 14TH 630-830pm at: Suffolk County Sports Park, home of the Long Island Ducks (formerly Citibank Park) 3 Court House Dr., Central Islip, NY 11722 The Producer of the show will talk about how they change lives week after week, and Sal will talk about Alure's involvement in Alure 8th Extreme Makeover. Those attending will hear how they can get involved and be among the first to sign up to volunteer. John Hampson of Nine Days will make a special appearance and perform their top ten hit, “Absolutely (Story of a Girl)” along with a few other songs. Alure is inviting volunteers from the community interested in providing their time, support and/or resources to help ensure the success of this life-altering project. Following the pep rally, we'll start to sign up volunteers for the project, which will start a week later. We'll be creating a Fan Page on Facebook to be the GO TO website for this makeover, featuring photo galleries, daily posts of pics, videos, updates and interviews, spectator info, parking, directions, the family story, as such information becomes available. We will also coordinate a food drive for the INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network) who will collect canned or packaged food donations at the makeover site all week long. Enclosed are the press release and pep rally info. The Alure Fan Page will be the go to site for all information regarding volunteers, donations, the build schedule, spectator info and more as well as daily posts of pictures, videos and updates throughout the build. http://www.facebook.com/alurefanpage To get involved, please email extremelongisland@alure.com Hope to see you at the Pep Rally. Thanks, Seth <<E8 press release 6-8.pdf>> <<PEP RALLY SUMMARY.pdf

  16. I do not think that they are , as far as I have read and understand it, but I am in no way an expert,FOIL has to do with Tax money and the way it is spent. When we get a donation if it is not earmarked in the donation ie: for someone passing away, towards someting specific , we give it to our board of directors to invest, we do send a note along with what we have done with the money.
  17. Thank You everyone who has helped us out with everything, The Foundation is moving along nicely, as is our family, it is always a tough time for us but we have to keep moving if I sit still too long everything comes crashing back to me and I can not function. Anyways to say he taught me alot is an understatement. I miss him and love him just as much as the day he was born,
