  1. Maybe I am looking at this the wrong way and if I am feel free to correct me...In the 1930's prohibition was established...did it stop people from getting booze? I think people drank more. Second how long has the war on drugs been in effect? Has it done anything to prevent illegal drug sales? Last I read Oxycodone abuse is on the rise and people are getting more and more addicted to it and it it easily available illegally on the streets. Drugs are out there. You can pass all the laws you want the crooks will continue to beat the overloaded system and with the big push to reduce the amount of cops today they crooks will have the advantage because they know they can and will get all the guns they want without clip restrictions they want to put on law abiding citizens.
  2. They may have the staff and resources now but that can change given the times we are in.
  3. Rest in peace
  4. Best of luck to Jennifer in her new position
  5. As it stands now fire districts can not bill for EMS services. The only alternative would be to take EMS out of the district and form it's own entity.
  6. I can honestly tell you he is one of thousands who slip through the cracks in the system. I used to do rap sheets before I retired and I was amazed on how lengthy the reports were. NY is a very liberal state when it comes to punishment.
  7. Alot of fun and memories with that muster
  8. They are all on auto-pilot
  9. It's wannabees like that that give the rest a bad name
  10. Why should they take responsibility for their actions when they know they can sue for anything. My guess this will go nowhere.
  11. Congrats and good luck
  12. Prayers go to the officers for a speedy recovery
  13. There were alot more that were outraged...Gov Christie also...the end result is people got screwed, people who pay taxes and are now homeless.
  14. As much as I am outraged about this lets not blame the entire Republican party for this....Rep King and Grimm lashed out publicly against their own party ( Republican) and said it was a disgrace what was done. I think all legislators both Republican and Democrat should put pressure on Speaker Boehner who basically walked out of the chambers last night and put pressure on him to get this going and help these people
  15. Happy New Year to all!!!
  16. I know Barry outside of EMTBRAVO....wealth of knowledge...congrats!!!
  17. Prohibition didn't stop people from drinking. The war on drugs hasn't stopped people from getting drugs. Tell me how stricter gun laws will stop the violence. Look at Chicago and thier murder rate yet they have tough gun laws. If a law abiding citizen wants to carry he/she should be able to. As far as the massacres? Tough one. Better mental health awareness, tougher jail sentences ( the perp that shot the brothers in Webster was a convicted murderer and should of still been in prison) to start. Maybe curtailing some of the violence on TV? Video games? Internet? And i mean in the home. Do kids need Grand Theft Auto? With all the sports games out there why the need for such a violent game?
  18. May he rest in peace
  19. My taxes are quickly approaching $12,000 per year with $525.00 of it being fire district tax the majority being school tax. And for the record I do not advocate taking fire department vehicles out of state for non-fire department use.
