Hey Steve, did HHFD ever get permission to order the new E-46 or an ambulance?
-
From the Journal news legal notices 8/1/07;
Sleepy Hollow approved $64,100 for a firefighting vehicle as well as a new ambulance.
From the Journal news legal notices 8/2/07:
West Harrison FD seeking bids for a "fire/resuce" vehicle.
I think the SH one is for the Utility or Mini Attack unit that has previously been discussed here. Not sure about the WHFD one though.....any info?

Most recent county apparatus list shows that Katonah has reserved Ladder 39 and South Salem has reserved Ladder 66. Anyone know if these departments are buying new trucks? If so, good luck to both departments with their first aerials.

Here is the P'ville page link. Their 2 Ferraras are very impressive rigs.

E-39 is not being stored with us at LFD. No plans for that in the future either.

Saw this rig on Wednesday. I'm not usually impressed by ambulances, but wow!

Quoting this months FAJ magazine, Yonkers has apparently approved additional fire apparatus to include: (This is in addition to the current units that are about to be delivered)
2 ALF pumpers (For E308 and E309)
1 new Tower for L71
New Collapse Unit
New Foam Unit
New tractor for the HazMat trailer
New Field-Comm unit
New Command Post Unit
2 Buses for Special Ops
2 SUV's
New 23' Boat
If anyone from YFD can confirm these it would be great. Yonkers should have some impressive fleet by the end of the year!

It is not replacing any of our current units. We will be going back up to three engines, which is the way the department ran until 2004 when E35 was taken out of service.

The Village of Larchmont has approved the purchase of a 2007 American LaFrance 1500/500 rescue pumper for the LFD. Delivery should be in the first quarter of 2008.

Journal news legal notices from 7/24/06 show that the county is accepting bids until 8/18/06 for a new "Haz Mat Response Vehicle."
Anyone know if this is to replace the current unit, or perhaps a second piece to the unit?

False alarm. Also, this was handled by the TMFD, not Larchmont.

The November/December 1999 issue of FAJ has a photo of a 172' Bronto Skylift on a 10 wheel drive chassis at the Stuttgart Airport in Germany.
I know that Calgary has a Bronto in the 150' range on a 8 wheel E-One chassis.
When I lived in Washington DC, they had a 135' straight stick (L10), which is the biggest I've seen in the states.

Pocantico Hills and Archville were dispatched around 5:30am. Sleepy Hollow E86 relocated to Pocantico Hills HQ.

U66 is a 1997

Yes, it is still up and running. I still pick it up just fine down on the Sound Shore. The signal is not as strong as the previous one. If needed, the PL is DPL 243
Hope this info helps
