  3. Today's JN legal notices shows that Thornwood is soliciting bids for another pumper. Can someone from Thornwood advise if this is a re-bid for the pumper the were ordering at the beginning of the year to replace E-290 or a second new pumper? Thanks FD171

  11. From today's Journal News as well: Village of Ossining has approved a $1.8 million bond for the purchase of new fire apparatus. I have heard through the grapevine that this is for an engine and a 100' tower ladder, but if that has changed please advise. Thanks.
  12. Today's Journal News legal notices show that on 10/28/09, the Mt. Vernon City Council approved bonds to be issued for multiple things in the City, including FDMV for the purchase of: 2 command vehicles 2 engines 1 ladder Anyone with more info please advise.
  13. From today's JN Legal Notices: Village of Hastings-on Hudson accepting bids for a new "Tractor Drawn Aerial Ladder on a Custom Chassis." Bids due 2/23/09. Congrats to HHFD and I am thrilled to see that the tiller tradition will contine for them.

  18. From today's JN legal notices; Tarrytown has approved $675,750 for the purchase of new fire apparatus. Guessing this is for an engine and something else but if anyone from T-Town can advise it would be appreciated.

  21. The black over red tower is for East Meadow in Nassau County

According to a small article in today's Journal News, Westchester County has leased a HazMat vehicle to the White Plains FD for $1 a year to serve as an additional Haz-Mat unit for the City of White Plains and the County. The article quotes the value of the truck as being $350K so I am guessing that it is the former Haz-Mat 1 vehicle (now Utility 78) and not the new HM1. If anyone else has additional info, please let us know. Congrats to the WPFD on this new addition.

  25. Congrats to PMFD on getting this done. On the down side however, this means that yet another one of the dwindling Mack CF rigs in the county is history.
