Date: 1/9/05 Time: 18:47 hrs Location: 3416 Mohegan Ave c/s Kimble Ave, Mohegan Lake (Yorktown) Frequency: 46.26,462.200, Fireground 1 Units Operating: L10, E255, E254, U40, 69B2, 2262, 2264, Yorktown E270/FAST, 2533, Buchanan U12/Cascade, YPD, C&O Zone 4/1404 Description Of Incident: Working structure fire with a possible victim trapped. Two 1 3/4" line were stretched from E255 with 400' ft of 5" stretched to the nearest hydrant. An aggressive interior attack was performed with a quick knockdown. The fire was located in the living room with extension into multiple ceiling voids. Primary and secondary searches through the entire house showed no results. Yorktown FAST and Buchanan cascade assisted. YPD and C&O Zone 4 were also on scene. All units picked up approx. 21:45 hrs. Writer: CG206

  5. Howie is also heavily involved with the muster in Milford,Ct every September. He travels up from Fl to help out every year.

Date: 9/29/05 Time: approx. 1830 hrs Location: Rt 6/Old Farm La, In Area of Mohegan FD Headquarters, Mohegan Lake Frequency: 46.26, 462.200 Units Operating: E253,E258,2262,2263,2264,2266,69B1,69B2,69B3,U-40,34Medics 1 and 2, Yorktown VAC 8603, Putnam Valley VAC 34-7-2, Peekskill VAC on standby, YPD. Description Of Incident: 3 Car MVA w/ a total of 10 patients. Upon arrival of Mohegan units, 2 cars and a full passenger van all rear-ended eachother. An MCI triage was set up under the command of Chief 2262 and Mohegan VAC Lt. 6912. All Mohegan VAC's rigs responded as did Yorktown and Putnam Valley VAC's who responded with 1 rig each. A total of 10 patients were transported by all 5 busses to Hudson Valley Hospital. Peekskill VAC stoodby to cover any additional calls or possible patients. All units cleared by 2000 hrs. *On a side note...this was Mohegan's 4th MVA of the day. The first was a rollover on the BMP around 0800 hrs, the 2nd was on Rt 202 at BMP Ext. in Yorktown and 3rd was a tractor trailer vs. car on Furnace Dock Rd at 14:30 hrs Writer: CG206

Date: 9/27/05 Time: 2100 hrs- approx. 2200 hrs Location: Rt 202/Garden La I/F/O New City Diner in the Town of Yorktown Frequency: 46.26, 462.200 Units Operating: E254, E258, U-40, 69B1, 69B2, 69B3, 2261,2263,2266,2267, 34Medic 1, YPD Description Of Incident: 3 Car MVA with extrication. Vehicle requiring the extrication was struck from behind by one vehicle and then broadsided by another vehicle. The front passenger door, rear passenger door and the passenger side "B" post were all removed from this vehicle to access the front passenger seat patient. Members used the preconnected Hurst combo tool from E254 and the Hurst large spreaders and large cutters from E258. (1) 1 3/4" trash line was stretched and charged from E254 and a scene lighting tripod was used from E254. At least 2 of the 3 ambulances transported pt's to WMC. All units cleared by 2200 hrs.   11. Mohegan FF's will hold a Boot Drive on Rt 6/Lexington Ave IFO our Headquarters tomorrow Sat. 9/3/05 from 12pm to 3pm. Future boot drives for relief efforts will depend on the outcome of support we receive tomorrow.
  12. Just reminding everyone that the Milford,Ct Muster and Flea Market is Sat. 9/10/05 at the Eisenhower Park. Raindate is Sun. 9/11/05. For those of you who don't know about it, it is a great time with lots of different events and activities where some local depts participate in!
  13. Mohegan FD's FASTeam from Westchester County has been running FAST for Putnam Valley and Mahopac Falls for quite some time now. We even went to Mahopac to backup Brewster's team earlier this year

Date: 09-15005 Time: 06:43 hrs Location: Taconic State Pkwy NB Between Rt 132 and Rt 6 Frequency: 46.26, 462.200 Units Operating: LMFD E253,E254,U-11,2261,2263,2264,69B3,34Medic1,NYSP Description Of Incident: 1 Vehicle Rollover w/ Pin. Upon arrival of E253, confirmed pin of only occupant, the driver. Veh was on its driver's side pushed into steel construction pipes by its roof with front end into sound barrier. The roof and windshield were pushed down into car with the roof resting on head rests. Members immediately put 2 Hurst tools to work, cutting the passenger side "A","B" and "C" posts and peeled roof back. The driver, was then fully immobilized and send off in 69B3 with 34Medic1 aboard within 20 mins of arrival of all units. Driver appeared to only suffer minor injuries. All units cleared approx 07:55 hrs. During this incident, all NB lanes and 1 SB lane were closed, causing massive traffic delays. Writer: CG206

Date: 9-13-05 Time: 07:14 hrs-approx. 11:00 hrs Location: 3233 Mohegan Ave c/s Christine Rd and Dale Ave;Town of Yorktown Frequency: 46.260, 462.200 Units Operating: Mohegan: Eng 258,L-10, U-40, 69B3, 2261,2262,2264,2265,2266,2260 Yorktown: Eng 270/FASTeam, 2532 Yorktown 34Medic1 Yorktown PD West. County C&O Zone 4 Yorktown Fire Marshall County Car 2 and Battalion 16 Description Of Incident: Working fire in 1 1/2 story wood frame residential structure. Mohegan toned out for possible structure fire at 07:14 hrs. 2 mins later, Eng. 258 advises of smoke showing in area and then advises of Working Fire. Fire visible from "D" side of structure from 2 windows and fire in eaves above. 200' of 5" laid from hydrant to Eng. 258 with (2) 1 3/4" lines stretched from Eng. 258 with 1 line through front door and other line stretched to "D" side to protect exposure. Fire held to hallway and room of origin with some extension into eaves above. Bulk of fire knocked down within 10 mins with units opening up and venting roof to mitigate heavy smoke conditions, high heat, and hot spots. Yorktown FASTeam stood by, as did Mohegan VAC and 34M1 stoodby and no injuries were reported. Homeowners escaped safely and a cat and dog were rescued by 1st in members. The house next door on exposure "D" side had minor heat damage to vinyl siding though there was no extension inside. Good job by all involved!! Writer: CG206

  18. Preliminary results from Mohegan's Fill The Boot Drive shows that the Firefighters raised over $10,000.00 in just 3 hours of standing at Rt 6/Lexington Ave.
  19. Con Edison sent 30 employees with a dozen vehicles to the South 3 days ago. NYPD ESU has also sent its Urban Search and Rescue Team as well.
  20. A New Orleans Police Officer was shot in the head by a looter yesterday as the officer tried to stop the looting. Apparently they are looting gun stores and using guns as weapons to fend for themselves as they loot other stores and mug innocent victims! Although the cop will survive....What the F*ck??? The mayor had to take 1,200 cops from Rescue missions and put them in the city streets to prevent looting. Remember585...coinsidence is...NYPD ESU has already left with its Urban Search & Rescue Team to assist. Con Ed also sent a convoy of a dozen trucks and 30 guys down yesterday morning.

  23. Jimmy' Bagels on Rt 202 next to Grandma's Restaurant and Pie Shop in Yorktown have great bagels with a large assortment. They also have a wide variety of pastries/cakes as well.
