  1. When did 67-45 go into service?
  2. Gamewell I am not to sure where you are coming from. The rules and regulations, standard of training, and requirements in my Volly department have been in affect for at least 15 years, and I have been in the Fire Service in that Department for 22 years. So I don't see how any litigation could take place. The rules haven't changed. I GUESS I AM A LITTLE LOST WITH THE COMMENTS THAT YOU HAVE MADE. The members of my Department know what is expected as far as training and how to conduct themselves on the fire scene. If they don't follow those rules, then whatever consequences come from there actions is on them.
  3. AMEN TO THAT BROTHER!!!!!!
  4. In the Volunteer house that I am a member, the Chief must go before the Commissioners to suspend a member for 30, 60, 90 days etc......
  5. Chiefs and Officers need to make recommendations to the Board of Fire Commissioners and make decisions to suspend or terminate members if they don't do there job and not be wishy washy about it, and to let members know that there are consequences.
  6. Oh my god!!!!!! This article is just what I was talking about with some younger members in my Volunteer house last week. This is so true, and I agree. Just because it says 100% Volunteer on the fire house, or 97% for P.V. does not mean the responsibility is less. You still have a job to do no matter who you are. NO EXCUSES!!!!! I heard a quote from F.D.N.Y. Capt. Metcalf SQ 252 "you have to be 100%.....100% of the time". IF you can't do the job the right way, or just can't do the job anymore.... be an associate member!!
  7. Tommy, We .....AFD recently had a serious mva on rt 55 almost to the town line and it was a difficult and lengthy extrication / disentanglement. The Paramedic on duty called for a Helicopter........ yes, I said a Helicopter in Arlington. A few people that I ran into asked why we called a Helicopter and said, ''you are so close to ST. FRANCIS''. It took the guys 45 minutes to get the patient out because of the condition of the vehicle and the difficult spot it was in and he had some pretty good trauma. The Helicopter was on the ground in AFD before extrication was completed. Some say that we are only 8 to 10 minutes from a level 2 trauma. In another 5 minutes the patient was at a level 1 and into surgery. I THINK OUR GUYS DID THE RIGHT THING! The week before we called a Helicopter for and elderly female burned in a house fire off Vassar Road. Not quicker, but at the right Hospital..... in my opinion. 12. If it keeps them safe, and make the vehicle more visible and saves just one Trooper it is worth it. Now another question would be are Police / Troopers required to wear a high visibility vest on a traffic stop?
  13. Great Job Brothers! But it needs to be said yet again..... Up here the Poughkeepsie Journal is set up the same way with the comments section.... And yet again, here someone has it out for the Fire Department. The comments made by albundy123 are uncalled for.... This guy needs to get a life. He has no love for the WPFD at all. These guys did a great job, and they were just doing there job, and someone from the public who they protect has the nerve to put such back handed and negative comments in a public forum. He probably took the test but was turned down and didn't get hired!
  14. I had a set in my Dodge HEMI AND THEY WERE GREAT , BUT............... They were too hot and you need to upgrade the wireing harness because the factory wires started to decay and melt, and they lost the connection and the lights didn't work.
