  1. Congratulations Seth and the EMTBravo Empire on 6 years of "Knowledge Helping Others". I am very proud to have been appointed a forum moderator and I pledge to continue to help make this site a positive and successful informational resource for area emergency services workers. Joe
  2. Great Find: Nat Geo TV Channel, Alaska State Troopers. The program really shows the grit that these brothers and sisters have to work in a pretty tough climate. Check it out. JC
  3. I find this rig to be one of the most awesome, mean and rugged looking rescue trucks I have ever seen. I am so jeaulous of Newark both over this truck and the work that it will respond to over its years of service.
  4. That rig is absolutely awesome. What will these guys think of next? In a lot of ways, these recovery companies are a lot like us firemen...they need to constantly push the envelope to make something do just a little bit more each time. Nice work Stiloski's! Thanks for being such a good friend to us firefighters. JVC
  5. Placed into service 11/4/2009.
  6. Seth, I'm not really sure who did the lights. I will find out. There are so many hidden LED's on this thing, when it is lit up, you cannot miss it. Most, if not all, of the spec work was done by our shops, under the fine direction of Master Mechanic Scott Plank and his assistant, Alan DiPietro. The slide-out equipment tray is pretty unique too, I just could not get a shot of it the other day because the rig had to go on a run when I was photographing it. JVC
  7. Dispatch Time: 02:13 Location: 22 Reservoir Avenue Units on scene: E1, E2, T1, T2, R2, C2, C7, C14 Discription: Heavy fire from BC side of the #2 floor and from the finished 3rd floor A side attic window of an occupied private dwelling. Last company took up at approximately 04:30 Cause is under investigation by Norwalk Fire Marshal Division.
  8. Agreed...Yanks are a classy organization. They do the right thing on the field and off. I encourage my children to watch the dedication and self discipline shone by many of these players, especially Geter. Great series. One thing that FOX SPORTS needs to address is the absolutely horrific job that was done by the two most idiotic windbags in sports announcing: Tim McCarver and Joe Buck. They were terrible and ruined an otherwise great series. I found my TV on mute on many occasions, and went over to 880 and listened to the infamous John Sterling, another NY class act. Congrats the the Bombers on 27.
  9. While on an errand to Station 2 today during work, I noticed new Car 2 was just put in service minutes earlier. I did not have a camera with me so I couldn't get any shots of it, but it is a very unique vehicle. Its an F250 Super Duty pickup with a Leer cap. Any picture I take will not do justice to the lightshow that this thing puts out. That will surely help on the highway calls. I will grab a few shots of it tomorrow and post forthwith. Joe
  10. We too often take for granted what these men and women do every day. May he rest in peace, and may his family be held in God's hands during this time of extreme grief.
  11. Seth, Email me the info to send a check via USPS. As you may remember, I don't do paypal, as my ID was stolen through them a few years ago. In case you don't have it, its jvcoppola@sbcglobal.net.
  12. I have had nothing but success with UnionActive. They are web-hosting a lot of sites in Connecticut for local union shops. Ours is www.local830.org and there is a LOT you can do with it, especially member areas. JVC
  13. New E2 (Headquarters) will be delivered soon. Here are 2 shots from the factory. The cab & chassis are similar to new R2 and the body is a twin-spec of E1. All red fleet??? - were getting there...
  14. Could anyone shed any light on why it is numbered E-260? Is there a story behind the designation?
  15. While I was working a fire watch detail at the Norwalk Boat Show and Waterfront Festival, I had a unique opportunity to meet Andy and Jonathan Hillstrand from the Time Bandit. These guys were awesome to talk to, very down to earth and unaffected by their fame. They took time to talk to each and every fan for a few minutes. They expressed their respect for the emergency services too. Really nice guys and an honor to meet them.
  16. Funny, after the meet and greet, Andy and Jonathan made thier way over to the Oktoberfest Beer Tent with a bunch of groupies in tow.
  17. PLEASE SAY IT AINT SO! SPARTANS IN NYC? WHAT NEXT...YELLOW GEAR??????????????????????????????????????
  18. 2 Pictures from that fully involved boat fire we had yesterday afternoon. As you can see, it was a total loss, but there were no injuries. Joe
  19. Seth, Some nearby boaters grabbed them up, and then the PD boat helped too. We were there for suppression only due to the delay.
  20. Haven't seen any yet, but if I get any, I'll post 'em up.
  21. One of the guys there said that the fire did originate in the back of the boat near the motors, and it spread very rapidly. All the occupants jumped from the boat.

  23. Not only has the circus begun, it has ended, the fat lady has sung...the clowns have removed thier makeup...the tent has been taken down...the animals have been packed on the train and everyone's head has exploded from hearing about this issue that seems to have more staying power than used plutonium.
