  1. Former Mohegan E-256 is heading to its original home town, but under new ownership. After faithfully serving the Palm Coast Fl. F.D. for 13 years, it has been purchased by the Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association. I loaded it onto a trailer yesterday and it should arrive in Mohegan tomorrow afternoon.

  16. Well stated Al, in addition, it was difficult to deal with the demands and restrictions of the Westchester County Parks Dept.including parking fees and logistics. Being a SPAAMFAA Chapter has great benefits including muster guidelines, insurance coverage and advertising the event.

  18. The green Mack is identical to the one the Peekskill Fire Patrol once had called the "Green Hornet" and was once owned by FHHA member Waine Kniffen of Valhalla, NY who showed it at many FHHA musters at Kensico Dam, could it be?

  20. As a friend of Lt. Sanford for over 40 years, I considered him an international ambassador for the fire service, fire buffs, and antique fire apparatus collectors. My condolences to Lt. Sanford's brother Hank and family and to all the members of the many organizations which he belonged to.

  24. husdon, you are right, I remember going there to get door parts for Mohegan's Mack, its twin. I also remember there were lots of hard feelings about its disposal.
  25. The last time I saw it, it was at a junk yard on the Albany Post Road, Montrose, many years ago.
