Don't tell that to Hawai'i. They're all yellow.

But how can you get help if this "zero tolerance" policy will get you fired when you seek treatment?
-
Does FDNY allow members of service to come forward and admit drug use and get them treatment in order to help them or would they be fired if they came forward?

This poor guy was weeks away from collecting his pension and retiring. Do you think this guy really deserves to loose his pension? Seems like the city worked REALLY hard to rip it away from him. Why not just let the guy retire. It's been done so many times before with diciplinary cases. Why not now? What do people think?

Sure is short notice.....I hope you guys have enough people to run the class tho....you've worked so hard to get it going I'd hate to see it cut because of poor enrollment.

Merchandising, merchandising, where the real money from the board is made. EMTBravo the T-shirt. EMTBravo the lunchbox. EMTBravo the coloring book. EMTBravo... the flame thrower! Kids love it. And my favorite, EMTBravo the Doll -- SETH!

One of the guys I work with has the Station 51 tones from Emergency in his phone. Too cool. I want custom ringers for my phone. (POS old i1000).

What about gang green? Last I checked they were 5-0. (Sure that changed with last week's games).

Yeah, don't become like the paparazzi and start messing with people's houses. On the flip side of the coin however, if they were on the street and on public property, there really is no law that says they CAN'T take pictures. But I digress.
-
I'll definatly keep that in mind! Thanks for the info.

28 - You have mastered the ability to whistle your department's tones so well, that when you do it over a keyed mic, it sets off your pager.

OH wow! I actually remember that incident. How bizzare . The wires droped and since the boaters were in an aluminum boat, they got zapped. Don't remember them calling STAT-Flight 80-Air-1 but hey, if we can have 45-Scuba-1, why not? :->

Good luck Charlie Brown!

I still like the calendar idea. But It's getting ldown to the wire for a 2005 edition.

The minitor 3s were plagued by many problems which is why Motorola rushed the 4 to the market (which is basically a renamed and reworked minitor 3 but with a few changes in circuitry).

Both 45Medic2 and 3 worked the scene. Command was 2442. 2 rigs from SFD with 1 M/A from KBHVAC. Empire State Ambulance happened by the scene and offered assistance but did not transport. 3 patients in total...2 and 1. All went to WMC, 2 by ground for mechanism and various injuries, 1 by STAT-Flight with lower extremity trauma. Extrication of driver door on struck vehicle performed rapidly by SFD with the tools. In the process of working this call another call went out for a patient who flipped his Quad and has a possible open fracture. 45Medic1 and third Somers ambulance reponded while NSVAC put on standby in Lincolndale firehouse.

Haha. I once had an EMT (who is now a medic) who was definatly (and probably still is) a buff tell me that he would leave "getting some" WHILE "getting some" if the tones drop for a good call. Dude, SEEK HELP.

Oh and for the record, Boston deserves it. 86 years in the waiting and they finally take the Series. And they earned it too. It come back from a 3-0 deficit with only three outs to go, they made history. And they bested an excellent NL team to take home the cake. And they got to eat it too. Awesome.

So did everyone in Oahu too. Apparently there were a LOT of Boston Red Sox fans either residing or vacationing in Hawaii. It was a very tough place to be a Yankees fan.

Date: 10/15/2004 Time: Approximately 1400 hours Location: South Kihei Rd, I/V/O Foodland City/County: Maui County EMS (AMR Hawaii) - Kihei Station Agencies: Maui Police - Kihei Patrol, AMR Maui Frequency: Unknown. Probably by bongo drums or alpha pagers. Writer: WAS967 Description: Initially came in a pedestrian stuck by vehicle. PD on scene with moped driver who was struck by passing vehicle. Patient complaining of lower back pain. Transported to local hospital by Maui EMS (AMR). All other units 10-8 (Hanging loose).

Yeah. Thats the station in Kahalui. I saw it on several occasions but traffic prevented me from quickly stopping and getting pictures. They regularly had the engines parked on the apron. Same in the station in Kihei. They only appeared to have one engine there and looked like they had a two man crew on because the same two large trucks were usually parked there. I don't know if they are augmented by volunteers. Wailea is like the Beverly Hills of Maui, really nice place. Where did you stay? I got a condo for about $90/night in Kihei with a nice view and plenty of room. I'd go back again in heartbeart. I didn't find the drivers there too bad. Tho there was one accident on Piilani Hwy that looked pretty juicy. (Hey Seth...can you move this to the discussion room? The original message was really just a goof. :->)

I was sitting in Oahu chilling with my Mai Tai and for some reason was watching this show called Extreme Home Makeover. It's on ABC and involves the carpenter from Trading Spaces going to people's homes and doing major makeovers. These makeovers are typically done for families with special needs. (This particular one was for a girl with a medical condition that I missed the details on but she needed special filters to help her breath and they worried about her getting sick (my theory was Leukemia). Now since one of the last patients I took care of was Jimmy Boy, he popped into my mind and I though....how cool would it be if we could get them to come and make over the Arena's house? Anybody know who to write to? Trading Spaces did an episode in Katonah once before, maybe Extreme Makeovers could be convinced to travel a little further north to Purdy's?

At that rate, might as well just sleep in the jump seat of the fire engine with all your gear already on. Saves gas on the trip to the fire house.
