Highway Stripes

11 posts in this topic

What are the departments around our area that use "highway stripes" on their rigs? Also, what is everyone's opinion of them? Are they useful and effective?

In Pleasantville, we have them on the back of our 2 new rigs and they are great. You can see the trucks a 1/2 mile away without the lights on. Great for parkway or highways. I think a must have for that type of response.

Saw this one yesterday - gotta say, it would be hard as hell to miss them, but you know someone will...not to mention the giant yellow truck!!

They look ugly but they are effective!

It is a very good safety item. They have been proven to help save lives by provideing more visibility.

Ron Moore has a lot of information on this. He can be found on www.

Montrose has them on a few rigs, like them alot, depending on the color. I think it should also compliment the paint scheme.

Yes, looks horrible but does the job! :D

I'd have to side with SAFETY vs. Pretty.

I can't say it looks too good, but they sure caught my eye, at least in the pics.
