Hail to the Chief.....

5 posts in this topic

There are tremendous security measures in place, espeically in the immidiate vicinity of the U.N. due to the arrival of the President. While walking back from lunch I saw several FDNY rigs responding.

Do Midtown Co's make any changes in response to, or around the U.N. during times like this??

Figured there had to be something like that going on. Roads were blocked and baracades up around the Roosevelt hotel. Tent around the door, lots of black SUV's -- and an FDNY ambulance.

FDNY ambulance is part of the Dignitary Protection Unit. You should see a bunch as part of the motorcade this week.

I was looking to know if the Fire response was changed at all, routes and numbers wise.

The fire department knows in advance the routes that the motorcades will take and the times for the "frozen zones" and respond accordingly/
