Federal Agents Searching Lexington Company (GALLS)

27 NEWSFIRST has learned federal law enforcement authorities are

investigating a Lexington business.

Agents executed search warrants at Galls Incorporated on Palumbo Drive and a

warehouse on Russell Cave Road.

Galls is a national supplier of police and emergency services equipment.

Among the agencies involved in the investigation are the Homeland Security

Cabinet and the Department of Defense.  A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's

office tells 27 NEWSFIRST, Federal officials are investigating whether the

company had a license to send gear to restricted countries.  They're also

looking into any wrongdoing by company employees.

Employees were told to go home for the day.  Federal agents kept supervisors

inside.

The search is expected to last for much of the day.

At the Russell Cave location, an employee watched Federal Agents and State

Police go in and out of the warehouse.  She says she has no idea what was

going on and when she went into work, everything seemed normal.

Not as crazy as you think. In this day and age when every Tom, Dick and Harry is e-mailing and posting signs in the firehouse to watch for stolen equipment and turnouts who's to say that the terrorists are just not going out and buying the stuff? In all honesty when was the last time Galls or any of the other suppliers asked for some type of proof of affiliation when you purchased something? They only care about their sales figures at the end of the day.

I'm sure that DHS and DOD had a very good reason to raid the facility, also don't forget they also sell police supplies ( Body Armor! ) which would be of great use to your friendly neighborhood jihadist.

I thought they were raiding Gall's because they were unhappy at the OUTRAGEOUS prices Galls charges.

I wonder how they do any business at all, since there is a plethora of other places to purchase the same items from, and most often at a considerbly lower price. It seems like when they first started, they were charging a lower price to knock the "little guys" out of the business, and then when they got big, they raised their prices.

There's a ton of great places to buy Public Safety/Emergency Service stuff on the internet. I was looking for Magnum Stealth boots the other day, which I have bought from Galls in the past. I did an internet search, and found BootBay.com. They were $10 cheaper, PLUS free shipping. Other Galls alternatives is your local uniform shops (although some around here are kinda skelly).
