NYS*DOT Depot Putnam Route 22/I-684

7 posts in this topic

Here's a shot I got in December.

What's with this depot, on Route 22 in Putnam just north of I-684? Only two trucks? And that really, really old looking structure?

Cool photo though with the a new Mack and new International in the photo.

It's more of a salt pile substation. The main NYSDOT depot for eastern Putnam is on Ludingtonville Rd in Lake Carmel

Is there a spreader on the back on the International plow?

There is a spreader but it dumps right behind the drivers seat. has the chain in body and pulls toward front , instead of pulling to back. So basically you are able to drive on the material you are spreading. We have trucks similar to this at Town of Bedford Highway as well.

North Salem Highway has them as well. They're kind of funny to see when they're working, cause the body raises backward.

that looks like the wassiac yard or the one just north of brewster on 22 which is only used as a storage for salt in the winter
