Any one have pics of Verplanck's old snorkle or have info of where its at?

It is upstate...there is a topic on it...use the search engine and type in Verplanck...only about 10 items come up and that is one of them.

Short Info recieved in a post about snorkel a while back in this forum

Snorkel 2-1973 Young Bison 1000gpm/85ft Snorkel-replaced in 2001

Old Snorkel 2 is on a Walters chassis, and has no water tank. For some reason I thought it was a Young "Crusader", but I could be way off. Originally it had a Waukeshau (sp?) gas motor, and I THINK it was a manual trans, but it was repowered with a 6 cyl diesel and auto trans. They should've put in a bigger motor, but it did the job.

Yeah, I remember when you would here Peekskill request it cover on M/A jobs. It would take them forever to get to the Cortlandt H&L House on Main St. Just couldn't get up and going...Guess that is what a 6 cyl does on a huge fire truck...

Hey Gang,

YES, Montrose did have an old mack model C, (old engine 122 i believe) was last seen in service in Ludlow Penn. now located at an oil refinery where the pump is being used to help pump oil. i got some old photos around the house somewhere i'll try to find them.
