after stretching an initial handline and knocking down what appeared to be the seat of the fire, it was determined that the fire was being fed by an old style propane bar b que tank. THe tank was outlawed a year ago because it had a purge valve on it that allowed the tank to release pressurized propane when the tank was heated, to prevent an explosion. The fire, prior to our arrival had burnt through the first floor ceiling and spread throughout the second floor ceiling. CO later determined that other small fires were set upstairs as well.
