Rob, I'm disappointed.. Ambulance 3 is SOOOO busy, you must have had to take yourself out of service to get a good picture like that!

I'm surprised it doesn't have the standard "Green" paint scheme the rest of the Transcare fleet has.

It doesn't surprise me that the paint is different, the new Twn of Wappingers rigs are different from the rest of transcares fleet.

All of the White Plains EMS units that I have seen have this paint job.

There used to be only two, and only one after 11pm when I worked there a few years back. Friday and Saturday nights in WP were quite an adventure when you only had one bus working.

So having three, I can only imagine, is now a luxury.

Does that include North White Plains too or that's seperate?

N. White Plains is covered by Valhalla VAC.

3 trucks seems more than enough.

When I worked Abbey back in the 90's we only had two buses (both ALS) after midnight during the week. Mobile 1 and Mobile 2. Mobile 2 would cover transports (BLS after midnight and ALS) so frequently left only one bus available for the city. It actually wasn't too often that we had no bus available for a call, and when that happened, Mobile 1 would frequently do a quick turnaround from WPH or Agnes. During the day if it got busy and Mobiles 1 and 2 were out, we'd use the BLS fleet and one of the supervisors would cover ALS with 4004 (the old RAM charger flycar) or Rich Robinson would cover in his Caprice.

Back then more than 50% of the population of White Plains was workers or shoppers. I'm sure it's shifted more towards permanent residents now with the huge apartment buildings dotting downtown.

I think Transcare will also pull the truck from Grasslands for mutual aide if needed.

But nothing beats going mutual aide from WP to NR during the days when both the NR buses were out. :)

goose is correct. north white plains does not have any connection to the city of white plains, other than it borders it. north white plains is a hamlet within the town of north castle, along with armonk and banksville.
