Stamford Advocate - Article Launched: 08/20/2008 01:53:13 PM EDT

Staff Reports

A cop working the beat downtown without a break since June has gone missing.

The 600-pound bronze sculpture of a police officer writing a ticket placed at the corner of Broad Street and Greyrock Place as part of the Downtown Special Services District's art in public places exhibit was stolen from his post Sunday and police are looking for clues to his disappearance.

Can you imagine what 10 dozen bronze donughts must weigh? I'm guessing that's not part of the diet menu.

I guess the "Local Neighborhood Watch" forgot to watch the Cop

600lbs statue walks, and no one sees it <_< , seems to me it would take a bit of time to move..

Similiar to when fire apparatus double park on single lane two way streets so they can go grocery shopping for their 3 course dinner....

A 600 pound statue is heavy how do you steal that. You can't really throw it into the back of your pickup truck without some help.
