House renovation awaiting new foundation

Interesting situation: house resting on iron girders supported by box cribbing awaiting new foundation. Think of the implications for fires involving this structure or neighboring ones...

Well, I'll start by including a picture of MY HOUSE. That's right, I had my house lifted 2 years ago after Hurricane Isabel put 10 inches of water in my 100+ year old farm house.

We had to obtain permits of course for this project but we had to have special permission to keep all the utilities connected so we could stay in the house while it was up in the air for the 3 weeks the new foundation was being formed. I had to have the city inspector as well as my chief and fire marshal come out to map out the house, identify utility connection points, and have them inspect the entire lift so if there were an emergency they knew what they were getting into.
