NYPD detective dies after crashing into truck on Palisades Parkway

CLARKSTOWN - A New York City police detective died early this morning after crashing his car into the back of a state Department of Transportation truck on the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway, state police said.

Christopher D. Morelli, 36, of Newburgh was pronounced dead at the scene by the Rockland Medical Examiner's Office, state police said.
