If you haven't watched the Boston Fire video, you need to.
    Wear your damn mask.

    Yes, he Should.
    umm....Sentence fragments?
Just because the largest and most professional FD in the world does or doesn't do something doesn't mean that we all should follow suit. It's always dangerous on the fire scene, especially with all of the plastics and other crap that is burning. Remember the picture of FDNY putting out a garbage truck fire with no SCBA on? There's crap in there I don't want to smell when it's NOT on fire! If there's smoke, put on your SCBA!! If there's any chance at CO poisoning, put on your SCBA!! If there's any chance that you're going to inhale something you shouldn't, put on your SCBA!!

This morning, at 0001hrs, EMTBravo turned 13 years old! Maybe it's just me that's excited over something so trivial, but to me, it means something
Seems like it was just yesterday when I sat dow at my computer, enjoying the relatively new, long awaited broadband connection, at my apartment in Woburn,MA, on New Year's Eve, when on a whim, I decided to create a website to replace my Westchester Fire & EMS email list. So, the very simple website went live at 0001 on New Years Day, and, like a snowball down a hill, kept growing each and every week that went by. Photos and information poured in to post on the original site. There had never been a site like this in the Hudson Valley and Southwestern CT, and was launched before anyone had really every heard about Facebook or the term "Social Media". You could tell imediately that this was something that people had wanted since learning the word "Internet". Heck, some people only ventured on the internet for EMTBravo, and that's the only use they had for the internet.. Seven months later, the EMTBravo Network forums (the site you're reading this one) was launched to replace the "News" section of the original site and become an interactive and dynamic way to exchange information and ideas . EMTBravo has grown tremendously since then. I'm proud we our are own website, with our own software, on our own server, all completely customized for EMTBravo by me.
It's still our vision, and it's been proven over the years, that firefighters, police officers, EMS workers, 911 Dispatchers, and everyone else with an interest in emergency services can work together, can become friends, can develop ideas, can learn from one another, and can make anything happen. Of course, it was our first mission to "get the word out" which is still true to this day.
One of the things that I am proud of, is that members of the site when it was first launched are still active members to this day! The loyalty and support of this site by the all of our members has been awesome, and has made the site what it is.
Personally, one of the things I'm most grateful for during the entire 13 years of this site was all the great friendships that I have made along the way, that I probaly wouldn't have ever met had it not been for this site.
In the next couple of days, we will announce our strategic plan for 2016, which will bring some exciting new things for our membership.
    Warmest regards,
    Seth Granville
    Founder and Administrator, EMTBravo

Great shots Seth, we checked it out and it should help serve the Volvo company and their insight to help most of their employees by offering the rig to respond outside their plant is very generous indeed, some very forward thinking by the management team as the plant has employees that come from 3 states, as a fire brigade that's a nice piece to have at a nearby chief disposal even if it's just for the water

Some photos from Katonah's Parade tonight.

One note: That cool Mack B Engine belongs to Bedford Village FD...it was a surprise to me, I've never seen it before and didn't know they had it. Does anyone have more info on it?

(Not all apparatus and departments present are represented in the photos)

Our new Chief truck will arrive today and be sent out for radio, lights and graphics install, I've been assigned the 2005 Ford seen above, I've detailed it up and the fire district allowed the graphics to be done over, along with rear Chevrons, yes it is still not blue but I think it looks SO SO much better then it previously did. As soon as the new truck is completed I will post some photos of that as well.

There was a conversation about painting it white with ghost striping and lettering but it just wasn't worth the cost being it is used, we got a good deal on the vehicle from our neighbors, it's been well taken care of and it will help us get started towards the purchase of a new one down the road a few.

It's a great job that I've done now for 26 years with a 25 year retirement, my department has moved away from the police patrols of our 400 acre campus to a community based fire safety job, I am a certified code enforcement officer and we cover 9 counties, with the closure of most of the facilities it's a transition from being a police job to an emergency service dept. Where we can be deployed throughout the state to assist as needed in the event of disaster such as Sandy and the heavy snow fall this past winter in Buffalo. I have no complaints and I enjoy my job as a Sgt. with the agency

Nothing new, project placed on hold, new Chief vehicle should be here within a month and the fire district passed a LOSAP program in August 2014 so with us being a small company with a limited budget this has been placed on the back burner most likely to be revisited in early 2016

OK the fire district is again on us to move on this project, you guys have given some great advise, it looks as though the fire district wants us to remount the current body/box on a new Ford F-550 extended cab, any input on how we make this unit a better piece looking forward please share, thanks in advance!

Been chatting with Firematic on concept they are putting on the demo unit they are currently building, they are placing a jockey pump so the unit can be pump and roll, we are moving towards a re chassis at this point and re-working the compartments and possibly taking off the 15W generator as all the lights be upgraded to LED and we are researching an alternate power supply to run the hydraulic pump and tools
