Patrol car shortage on Long Island?

NASSAU COUNTY (WABC) --

A report in Newsday says that Nassau County police are suffering from a shortage of marked patrol cars.

The newspaper says the shortage sometimes forces officers to double up, meaning one car is assigned to patrol an area usually monitored by two.

Perhaps the Fd's will lend then one of their utility vehicles since most of their tour is spent at a fire house.
