The firefighters have been released from the hospital. Job well done, guys.

Fire came in as an outside odor of gas. SPD on scene reporting working fire. Well involved basement fire in a 2 story private dwelling. Car 2432, E54, E56, TL29 Hartsdale Fast on scene.

Sounds to me like there was a cracked gas main in the street, possibly due to the ground shifting from the frost, and leaking gas got into the sewer system.
